All that you need to know about Christian Eriksen is that he is one of the best dead ball specialists in Europe. He will start immediately for us, if for no other reason than he is exceptional at corners and free kicks.

He was arguably the best player on the pitch against Man City in their CL group stage game that Ajax won 3-1, so any suggestion he isn't good enough for us is frankly nonsense. He's a TOP TOP signing, and will leave us only a quality left back short of a squad that can compete for the title (really hoping we can convince Coentrao).
But is he a triffic lad?

Lets say we add Lamela Eriksen and Chiriches. Can we not add anybody else until we shift some non HG players? That would make 17 at the moment. Kind of plays leverage into selling Ade, Benny (if ever can get sold) and Gomes.

Why would Bilboa want or need to sell to us? And I can't believe a Basque boy cares much about us. They are one of the few clubs in Spain that aren't in financial trouble, iirc. They definitely don't have tax debt.

So unless they want to sell him to finance their new stadium, seems like people are not thinking this through. Bilbao are the one club in the world even Levy can't outmaneuver because of their uniqueness.

They may want to avoid Muniain walking away for nothing like Llorente did. Especially if he is hesitant on signing a new deal.

TW FAQ:

- La Liga window does not close on a different day from ours (http://www.epfl-europeanleagues.com/leagues_transfer_window.htm)

- We are set to get £35+ mil in EXTRA tv money this season (and every season going forward)

- Joe Lewis has reportedly loaned the club £50 mil interest-free for 10 years

- There is no minimum number of homegrown players per squad (unless you want to name a 25 man squad)

He's pretty much the only one who's the right age, cost, and position (listed as striker-left wing).

When Jasper mentioned he was Spanish, under 21 and can cover all positions around the striker.. Rodrigo instantly popped into my head! Don't know about anyone else but I know this kid is supposed to be a brilliant prospect!

Not under 21.

It's Muniain guys.

We have not finished with Spain yet. Suggests we would be buying from Spain, not that he is necessarily Spanish. All depends on outgoing on striker front. If we do another prodigy could be on the horizon, Age under 21 and covers any of front three positions. Fee would be in region of 22m Euros.

Name withheld but not from RM. Jasper would not have added this if it was someone from outside Spain, such as Rodrigo. May I add only a serious possibility dependent upon both clubs but there is positive noises that we would be successful if pursued.
I disagree, saying we are "not done with Spain" is ambiguous and leaves open the possibility of both a Spaniard and a player from the Spanish league. The note about RM is just because people would have immediately thought of a swap deal IMO.

Great player but not really a striker, he got 1 goal in La Liga last year and his best tally is 5, though granted he's still young, but he isn't the obvious player you would think of as a striker, attacker yes but not really a striker

That's not me having a go at the guy I think he's a fantastic player one with skill and vision but also great character and drive. At the moment he maybe wants to do too much and so it can be a negative but in a strong well balanced squad he'd be a great addition

"To ensure that Premier League Clubs continue to produce top home-grown talent, the 20 Clubs introduced a Home Grown Player rule from the start of the 2010/11 campaign. Clubs cannot name more than 17 non home grown players aged over 21. For example some clubs will have a squad list of 23 because they may have 17 over 21 non home grown players."

We will be maxed out if we sign these 3 no?

Tello just signed a new contract I believe.
I think barca will let him go as they feel the others are better and he isnt highly rated. Issac Cuenca was ahead of him before both of his bad injuries and so will be Rafinha and Deulofeu

Lamela and Eriksen were both born AFTER Jan 1st 1992 (ie both were 20 years old on Jan 1st this year) and therefore would not need to be registered as part of the 17 until the start of the 2014/15 season.

Two years. They have no impetus to sell now. Sure he will be less valuable next summer. But not by much. And it's not like they can sink that money into player recruitment.

Remember the old days when we were trying to buy a washed up David Villa? How times change.

Meanwhile terrible news here at camp Jair. My computer appears to have died and is resisting all attempts at revival. I could fucking cry. Why now? Why at all?

Because your computer is following Tucker's Law
