That was the first thing that came to my mind too... but it makes some sense given the last medical we did on a player and what happened after. That or Lamela is so impressive he can be in two places at once (which would give us 12 against 11 on match day which could be another skill he brings... maybe he can teach the rest of the squad!).

Can't see us having a 'surprise' signing, to me that indicates someone we haven't been linked with and is world class. Can't see how that it's under wraps with everyone around the world, no ITK on it and we suddenly announce it out the blue.

I'm expecting 2 more in addition to Lamela and even that's ambitious considering the money we've already spent

Surprise doesn't need to mean world class, could be a good squad player. If its a player with a release clause, the other club may not even know yet, just our committee and maybe the players agent. Obviously it won't stay secret forever but I could easily see us signing somebody this weekend that we haven't been linked to yet.

Strictly opinion, but we have multiple quotes even from Chiriches agent that that is on the brink of being done. Roma are stating Lamela is Spurs bound. Media are now reporting Levy/Baldini at Ajax to secure Eriksen.
Leaves us a LB as matter of importance, then a striker, if, and only if, Ade/Defoe are sold.
