over 36 hours since the window has shut and I am as gutted now as I ever have been in a long time. We really did miss the opp to cement our place in the top 4 with our dithering over a striker or 2 last summer and this Jan. We really are gonna regret this in years to come.....

Contrary to what most people believed, Wenger did make a signing in January.

I did say early on, and disagree with harry if you might, but his target seemed to be Carroll. we DID bid according to Harry (3 times). We sounded out the target sin Spain as Adiepf alluded to, but on all the occasions we were more than enchouraged to not bid by the clubs, and interestingly by the players. From what I gather, not one of the potentail signing from Spain were keen to move mid season.

We may have been echouraged by Aguero's camp, but only as a bartering tool in signing a new deal for him!

Its all football politics and it stinks.

However I have faith in the players we have, and the magnificent club as a whole. Looking forward to the summer window with a glass half full!

Aside from the debate on us chasing top grade strikers with big wages, I've found myself getting more and more frustrated, when I look back to last summer. Even if we couldn't bag a Forlan/Fabiano, or whatever, we should've been continuing with our policy of speculating on talented players, with the potential to be better than what we currently have. NONE of the strikers on our books come the end of last season are in the first half of their twenties, with room for improvement. I'd like to know what is going on with our scouting, as I personally have no idea, but the surface evidence doesn't appear good. There were people to be had for good prices, and targets should've been identified start of last summer. A wee list I compiled from last summer and this window ( and I'm not saying any of them would've necessarily come.........

Suarez 23m to Liverpool
Huntelaar 13m to Schalke ( I don't care what anyone says about him being a flop, he suffered due to politics and managerial changes at Milan/Madrid and maintained a respectable scoring ratio at both)

Gignac 13m to Marseilles ( no interest from us)
Cavani 12m to Napoli ( no bid from us)
Srdan Lakic FREE bosman to Wolfsburg this coming summer. Was wrapped up on january 27th. (Dzeko replacement, 6'1 Croatian striker that has been ramming them in for Kaiserslautern for the past 2 seasons)

Pazzini 10m to Inter ( Why not try ?)

Lucas Barrios at Dortmund ( Why didn't we go outside of Spain and try a bid ?)

Falcao at Porto ( Why not try a bid ?)

All of them would've been an improvement, or injected fresh life, and just about all of them don't come with the price tag or wages of the people we ended up chasing. I could list more and more of them as well. And I'm not saying for sure whats going on behind the scenes, but I have seen no sign of a proper concerted effort to lock down targets and make best use of our position since last May.

Hopefully by then, one of the ITK's get it right.......they haven't been anywhere close in the last two windows.

I've no problem with the ITK's getting it wrong.... Its simple enough to say what you've heard without giving a source away. We know deals can break down at any time for a 100 different reasons.

But we do have ITK's who just type absolute shit for all to see. Some have been totally illiterate and others like to think they are clever with 'cryptic' bullshit that there is no call for.

The mods do a great job and work damn hard for us and I very much appreciate they're efforts. But they shouldn't kiss the ITK's arses. If the ITK is not delivered in clear English then it should be ignored. Likewise if it is cryptic bullshit (almost every POTL mail going) then it should be ignored. We should not give them the platform to gain they're prestige if they do not deliver. I'm sure it only clogs up the server when there are two hundred messages going in from people wondering what some ITK meant by saying 'patience is a virtue' 3 times..... Thats not ITK, thats BS and it should be ignored.....

Some ITK's like mystery and Adiepf are a wonderfull source of info and i hope they keep doing they're stuff. While I think others have no more source but 'want to keep playing the game'.....

I found the whole window as frustrating as ever and wish I never knew about the ITK section of the site. Bad/cryptic ITK enhances that frustration and is counter productive to everything the site stands for.

Yeah, but thought he returned. Also, the round-up is normally a good way to set out exactly what happened and sort of 'clear his name'.

Not about to read through the 20 pages to find out if anyone thinks the same but these last two windows have been a massive waste. OK, we got VDV but that was a deal that pretty much fell into our lap.

We had CL football and couldn't get anyone in.... maybe it's best we only scrape into UEFA Cup because that's when we've done our best transfer dealings?

From the outside looking in it seems Harry is truly out of his depth when it comes to transfers dealings at this level, we MUST get someone in to do it for him. We've missed a trick with Suarez and be all accounts it's through Harry's indecision. And the kicker for me... Harry then goes and blurts out that we have 30+ million to spend... can you imagine what sort of inflated prices we'll get quoted in the next window - it's almost an act of sabotage! Let him deal with the first team and let someone capable deal with the transfers.
