With respect Gareth Bale is s gentleman with high standards and Cole is the scum of the earth with none and so that comparison can't be made.
Pleased to see POTL agrees with my assessment of the Soldado situation, all agreed just a few thing to sort out which is obviously nothing to do with the deal just the banking procedures.

Ha I've lurked but not posted too much, I tend to be a little quieter this time of year as the site gets all the loonies coming out of the woodwork. Particularly avoiding the various agenda driven, passive aggressive, anti levy threads ha. I also got bored and did some hiking in the states.

What I will say is I'm getting impatient for the new season to start, I can't wait to line up v Palace with Bale and Soldado up front!

So, we can assume (well, I'm going to go ahead and assume) that Soldado is coming. Reports suggest Ade is on his way to Turkey (to have a fantastic season before inevitably swapping his football boots for roller-skates for the 2014/15 season) so that would mean we're back to two strikers. Deadline day attempt at Leandro again I imagine (surely we can get him for a couple of hundred thousand, I mean we've been trying to sign this guy for about a fucking decade now, he can't have many playing days in him left).

LLM's ITK on Bale is calming, but I'd really like to see a couple of the ITK's come on here and reassure us that they're hearing he's staying put.

Please God the board arn't going to soften the blow of him leaving by announcing that we're actually considering his sale on the crest of Soldado's signing.

But... all in all, still confident he'll stay. If he appears in our next pre-season game then I'd be pretty much 100% sure there's nothing happening. If he still has a case of sore arse this time next week I'm going to get jittery.

Do you honestly think so? He'll be just swapping one supersub role for another at WHL. We are not buying Soldado without intending to play him in the majority of games.

That will piss off JD also, who although not first choice can actually do a decent (albeit limited) job from the bench.

We need the youngster or someone like Remy who can cover a couple of positions.

Before I stumbled upon this forum a couple of years back (my main spurs feed was newsnow which meant I read Harry Hotspur/vital spurs/triffic tottenham etc...) it always seemed to me that POTL was a joke, I know the blue and yellow thing didn't work well (did he ever confirm what that meant?) it's only since being in here that POTL is clearly the oracle of ITK'S! Maybe it's the mystery with his name "Phantom of the lane" that gives him a mystique if you will, and he doesn't post that much. I'm sure I read somewhere before that he is/was Lennon's agent, however I think agents have better things to do than go on spurs forums to give cryptic clues out!!

I wonder if every team has their own POTL? I.e POTE (phantom of the emirates) or POTC (Phantom of the cottage) hmmmm....

I agree. Blue and yellow was silly, but his postings are generally top for me.

We would need a lot of luck with injury's though, like you I would fancy our best 11 vs United's, but in terms of squad depth they are well ahead at the moment IMO

Who cares if JD gets pissed off. Tough titi! You need good cover and JD is not good enough, Remy pretty shit not prolific. A youngster? Fine if we can find one but we've been chasing LD for 4 transfer windows so I'm not optimistic.
