I know for certain he was being considered, along with Sturridge and Gameiro at PSG, and LFC believed he was keen on the move, but not heard of any formal approach. This was meant to top secret like the Assaidi deal. Thats all I know for certain.

Carroll's almost definitely going to Newcastle, it could even be completed in the next few days, so I wouldn't be too worried about that.

JJ didn't believe Lloris was on. Small chink in the maestro's armour perhaps?!

It goes to show that we shouldn't hang on every ITK's word. They get given info in good faith, but I reckon quite a bit gets held back. Jesus, the Saha/Nelsen call from JJ in Jan must have had the club wondering how the hell we we're getting the info. Unless it was them that was allowing us to have it. Who knows!

Anyway, this has given me hope that we will still sign Leandro Damiao and we will all be happy

Well, when we were originally linked to Lloris JJ said that they were asking for too much and said it would drag out (just like with Moutinho). I think when we were over in the USA Akqayid was saying we'd sign him after we returned, but JJ pooh-poohed it. I'll be interested to see what JJ has to say tonight after the Lyon president's comments.

i'd be staggered if someone like llorente who could probably have his pick of clubs (of which there would be a long list for his signature) would go to liverpool at this point in time. They finished 7th(?) last season and are in major transition, potentially years away from becoming anything close to what they once were. got a hard enough time thinking he'd consider us, let alone them.

They already have Tyton who is a very good keeper, and they just signed a new keeper (Waterman) this very summer. I highly doubt this.

You are right, I am sure a lot gets held back. But, as has been said before, things change very quickly in this game. Perhaps:

1. Lyon decided to cut their losses now.
2. Lloris kicked up a stink (a la Modric) and they have given in and will sell.
3. A&C threatened to start posting Lyon his discarded testes until they sell him to us.
4. After seeing Friedel play last weekend, AVB has requested the GK hunt to be restarted.
5. Perhaps Lloris likes being called Duty Free.

Who knows? That said, I reckon it's 3.
