Quite honestly, would not be too pleased if Ade and CD leaves.
Agreed, he did not perform as expected but tbf he did drop down to the half to link up with the mid, acting more like DLF giving Bale more reasons to go up and perform his bag of tricks.

CD works his socks off for the team, so unless able replacements are brought in I look at booting them out as more of a downer in terms of squad strength.

Really? I would classify it as no more than banter, the sort that goes on between mates. He isn't exactly going to care what people think either since he is getting paid a fortune for doing a job we would all die to do.

I think it has something to do with it not being that funny to start with and it plainly untrue. He's a big guy and is pretty slow but that doesn't make him fat. There are plenty of photos of him with his top off which show him to probably have less fat on him than the majority of people posting on this forum.

Also, I don't think being paid lots of money makes people immune to abuse. Actually I think the secret footballer talks a lot about this fallacy and that many players develop a hate for the fans because of the abuse they give on the field and the perceived fickleness of the fans.

Anyway sorry for this out of topic post. 11 players out sounds highly unlikely unless it counts loans, we need evolution not revolution.

Interesting. We only have 24 players at the moment. I don't include Gomes as I'm sure he'll just be loaned out again.

This includes Rose, Carrol and Townsend.

If we get rid of 11 and add 6 (his higher number + Paulinho), we have 18 players. And 3 of them are youth players.

Potentially very thin.

We're gonna compete on 4 fronts with 15 players, a bunch of kids & a propensity for injuries.

All very well wanting to ship out 11 players but executing it in reality is another matter.

I'd expect a few posturing from clubs and a fair few loan moves in and around 31st August to get them off the payroll.

What will help is securing our targets in decent time which looks like it could be a reality and that puts us in a much better position going into the season.

Would leave us a bit thin upfront with only two strikers and no CD to cover, the 5th player would need to be capable of playing up top too. Still would be a thin squad overall with that many outgoings, we must be promoting some youth.

We've been signing a lot of versatile players so I'm not too worried about having a small squad. Apparently AVB prefers to work with a smaller group of players anyway (and no I don't mean a team of Aaron Lennon and 19 of A&C's sex dwarfs).

a lot of the 11 would be youth/fringe players though (like Mason, Obika, Lancaster, etc). I don't think we'd sell all three of ade/defoe/dempsey either, but would be happy to sell any of them based on interest, economics, and available replacements.

One in that hasn't been talked about is a backup keeper which I'd think we'd need. I'd be uncomfortable with Friedel coming on for Lloris at 42 and we don't really have anyone ready beyond that either.

As Ryan has already said, the eleven must include some of the youngsters...like the two that of gone to Swindon etc.

And any who have been released...Gallas etc.

Even though AVB prefers a slightly smaller group to work with, 11 senior players would be like a fire sale. We would be far too light to compete efficiently with the amount of games we have.

Could the 11 include Gallas and Bentley? As mentioned, we are a little too thin to compete on all fronts otherwise. Of course, the list of 11 players could be the names we are willing to listen to offers for, doesn't mean we will sell all of them.

I've convinced myself that we will have a A and B team scenario this season with a lot of the u-21 team getting their chance in the cups to impress. Not in a Harry way because if they do well it will be a platform to step up; I don't think Harry had much interest in taking any chances with youth but put them out to fill space in the squad.

Really can't believe we'd sell half our squad - the disruption would be really damaging. The other day everyone was mocking Liverpool for needing such drastic surgery, whilst we only needed a few bits of icing on the cake

I'd say 6 out maximum, including Gomes and Khumalo

In terms of incomings, after the 4 strongly rumoured arrivals this week, I'm expecting only 1 more all summer.

11 is not that big a number when you consider Gallas Bentley and Bostock have already been released.
There will be at least half a dozen youngsters being loaned out.
Add to that 3 or 4 more senior players to make way for the upgrades and it all makes for a good summer of business
