Very small % of fans on the forums. If this was a PR exercise the tabloids would have been on this by now.

Forgetting Bale because that's a different kettle of fish....
If Jose doesn't get what he wants this window I'm done with Levy. I don't post spin(my info doesn't come from a place spin would exist) but I do omit some stuff as I feel at times it's counter productive.

Jose unlike Poch has given a decent list of players he wants and needs. None of them should be out of our range money wise, so there can imo be no excuses for not getting him at least his minimum requirements.

If he doesn't get at least that it's open season as far as I'm concerned.

Surely there is no way Levy doesn't back Mou is there?

Mou will walk/get fired, Kane will probably look to leave and we're stuck with mostly midtable players and a stadium worthy of fielding a top side.

Tragic stuff.

Have you not read anything i've posted over the past couple of days? :D

Make the effort, it's a real eye opener, a white knuckle ride of daring condemnations and risqué comments about our dear leader and his methods.

I can’t read ?

Sounds saucy ?

OK i've had a PM asking why this Levy stuff hasn't been consigned to his thread yet so it's probably best answered here for transparency.

Firstly, I think Levy is an oily toerag so it suits me to enjoy him being roasted in here.
Secondly, his thread is in Spurs Chat and we don't want ITK being discussed over there. It's dirty.
Thirdly, it's big ITK so to speak, we like to give the thread it's head when we get that, I thought you might like a day of relative freedom
Fourthly, it irritates the BeeSoDdLes like red ants crawling up their japs
Finally and mainly.....I think Levy is an oily toerag so it suits me to enjoy him being roasted in here.

Only two of those reasons are serious.

OK, OK three :cautious:

When it keeps on being everybody else's fault over and over for years there comes a time when you need to look in the mirror no ?
I personally think good old Danny's mirror has been blacked out for reasons of self preservation

Ain't we just........Pretty much every transfer window we get a spell where Levy gets pelters and a few people suggest we wait until the transfer window has closed before firing into him. Wait and see, which on the whole isn't the worst advice in the world.

Then the transfer window closes and the people who waited to see fire into him.

At which point the people (usually the same ones every time, I suspect Levy's eldest sons) that suggested they wait until the window closes before firing into him tell you that it's bang out of order and for reasons A, B and C he shouldn't be vilified and anyone slagging him off doesn't understand Jacques Merde about football/finances/egg & spoon racing.

This happens almost every transfer window. It's a most beautiful thing :D

I totally agree, and then the club release the accounts, and shows that we announce record profits time and again, and that the money has been there all along.

The lack of investment in the team in the last few seasons has been a total travesty, and I have been one of ENIC's biggest critics all along for that.

However now we are in position where we have leveraged all our cash in reducing the stadium debt, basically took a 50% loan against the value of stadium, rather than taking out a more substantial loan to have available cash, and have significant revenue drop-offs, both due to stadium revenue, and the TV/prize money due to the drop off of the team.
I can fully understand the reluctance of the club to spend much this window, even if it is desperately needed to rectify the disastrous errors the owners have made in the last few years in respect of the playing squad.

The problem we have is other clubs owners are willing to invest their own money in their asset in these times, and I am not just talking about Chelsea and City but many more including Villa, Everton, Arsenal have all pumped money into their clubs this summer, I do not have the feeling our owners are prepared to do that, apart from a rights issue more than a decade ago, they never have.

The only glimmer of hope I have is that it is obvious that Levy is totally awestruck with Mourinho, he turns into a lovestruck teenage girl when in his company, and may try and push the boat out for once.

I’d maybe relax and wait for the window to close before you start firing into the people waiting to defend Levy from the people who waited to fire into him.

If any one has contacts with the Trust, I volunteer to start writing the October meeting minutes with Levy in advance to cut down on the work:

  • “DL reiterated just how difficult it is to get a transfer over the line, with so many moving parts”
  • ”DL noted the difficulties of buying players considering the lost revenue due to COVID”
  • “DL stated spending big did not guarantee success, just look at Jack Clarke”
  • “DL defended doubling ticket prices as a ‘necessity to make Joe Lewis whole’ after the lost virus revenue”
  • “DL downplayed supporter concern about not signing a striker in the window while highlighting Kion Etete and Alex Morgan as ‘crucial’ striker signings in two of the last three windows, further noting ‘people forget that’”
  • “DL stated there were ‘positive ongoing extremely early, preliminary, exploratory, initial, and preparatory discussions’ to potentially get Milik in on a precontract to address the striker concerns for the 2021-2022 season, pending stadium debt payments and internal prognostications on revenue loss due to future pandemics, global warming, nuclear war, estimates of Mourinho’s severance pay, etc“

Apologies for my contribution to the Levy chat. Was using the ITK as a bit of a basis but appreciate this can easily tip into a Levy thread or a Bale thread for that matter.

I think we all should just remain a bit calm for a sec. We can all lose our rag at the end of the window should it be reasonable to do so.

The information isn't that deals are dead. The very opposite. In fact, you're all told there are five potential strikers - yet you, dear reader, latch on to the one you like the least and decide that one's going to happen. Is that the ITK's fault? Is that Jose's fault? Neither, it's your fault, dear reader.

You're also told that we're in a closer than we've ever been on a Bale Return (save when he was actually playing for us). Tell me again why you thought that deal would be easy. Each ITK has said "I don't think it will happen", but yet at each stage more information comes out that it's actually moving along - all the while claiming that they don't believe it will.

We lost yesterday = negative mood, and negative spin and assumption that a worse possible case scenario is the one that will definitely come true. That scenario only occurs for me if nothing happens - which would be unforgivable from Levy and the transfer committee.

So please can we be calm cherubs. Or Archie will banstick you in the face and bum. Not necessarily in that order.
Cant agree with any of this.

The fans are up in arms not because its hard to sign Bale, or X or Y.

We're pissed off because of the bullshit spin that we have to swallow season after season after season, whether is be about being skint, or rich but the deal is 'hard to do', or trying to sell before buying, or spending big in other areas that will reap dividends in years to come, or all the other shit we're expected to sit nicely and nod understandingly and not kick up a fuss. Fuck that.

We're not interested in bullshit amazons documentaries depicting how cosy and nice everyone is, how some bleeding heart sob story from DL and our head of recruitment telling how 'difficult it is to do deals'. Its your job, for fuck sake!! Just crack on with it!
Also, stop telling us we're a big club if come the transfer window we start acting small time. Who knows, maybe its the fans fault for having expectations based on the fact that we are one of the richest clubs in world football, with one of the best stadiums in world football, and one of the best managers in world football, and one of the best strikers in world football.

Yeah, let's all simmer down, suck it up, and enjoy the same outcome that happens every single season.

It may seem like knee jerk after yesterday, but if we continue to buy mid-table or cheap players like Sorloth, then that's where we will end up finishing.
Its a vicious circle, we buy bargain basement players, then in a years time we hear ‘need to shift deadwood before we can buy’. So the bargain we bought a year or two years ago we can’t shift cause no one wants them, so we go for another bargain basement player and thus we have a lot of substandard players no one wants, taking up squad places and wages, hamstringing us to get top players. It’s a circle that needs to be broken, and it won’t unless a Levy changes his mindset. Theres only so many times you can do this before it stops the progression of the team. We are seeing this now.
