The one question I want JJSet to answer is: What is the club's current financial situation? Do we have cash reserves to spend money, without the Modric sale, or not?
I have an impossible time fathoming Daniel Levy sanctioning a 25 million dollar bid for Joao Moutinho. I think using Huddlestone as a temporary replacement would be much more likely, in the interim.

I dont really get the whole "reporting lower fees" situation. We are talking about it on here saying how Fulham will now think we have less money than we actually have and so they will lower their asking price for Dembele. If we can figure this out, then surely so can they!!

Reporting lower fees than what we receive also acts to infuriate support as already proved on here.
Holding out for £40m yet let him go for almost half that? All this posturing for nothing etc, preventing us from getting our squad settled for the start of the season etc.

I trust Levy will balance the books, so I don't care what the numbers are.
I care about what we see on the pitch. If we end up with Mouthinho, Ade, Damiao, and Lloris, in addition to Vertonghen and Gylfi, then the window will have been a tremendous success, regardless of whatever the Modric number was.

Maybe POTL is closer than JJ to the top? JJ has said people here things at different times and it appears that POTLs info is a bit more up to date? Thats if this is confirmed of course!

He did say less than 24 hours ago that it wasn't close. Things change though. Although I'm a little hesitant to believe SSN if they are using MARCA as the source.

They could be contractually obliged no to discuss the fee, not to say that someone wouldn't talk but there would always be an air of uncertainty if the top people were keeping shtum.
Honestly I think the fee is irrelevant, I wouldn't care if we sold him for a magic bean as long as we kick on.

He has said this today on POTL's info (including the bit about Modric):
Cant disagree with any parts of that though the finer details are missing &there is a reason for that!
