Agreed

I rate Porto for the way they handle their outgoings though, no messing around. They don't need to sell and they won't sell unless their valuations are matched.....put up or shut up

That being said I'd like to think we were able to scout a younger cheaper alternative who can step up to that level with us rather than us paying for established quality (quality which as you rightly say is expensive and not being chased by the biggest clubs due to perceived lack of value perhaps)

Little resale value? Perhaps. Although if we sign him and get 6/7 years out of him then we'd easily get our money's worth out of him through CL revenue etc...

Yes - and you missed out 25 year olds as beinng an ideal age.- Doesn't mean older players won't be signed

I like the info from Stockers. It just comes across exactly how we go about doing business, and fits in to each of our last multiple windows. It seems pretty clear that we will be doing all of our business in the final days of the window. There is probably little need in getting wound up from just now till then, because there are going to be various rumours flying about and bits info saying x is close, y is dead etc etc. The reality is, it will all play out near the end, and we should just sit back, absorb and enjoy all the nuggets of info getting shared, whether it be something ridiculous like Kenwyne Jones, or something equally ridiculous like. .......... £1 may ensure that I win the lottery, I don't think Levy will base any deal on possible Champions League money. I think we'll get him by next August though, one way or another.

Worth every penny is Moutinho, the fulcrum of probably the only midfield to give the Spanish team a game in the past 8 yrs - more importantly he is who AVB wants, got to back him now, could be too late in the summer - all this without mentioning Sandro's injury
