Trouble is now we've got Sherwood, he's got his favourites(the players he recommended to Levy) and wants to play them. The move from AVB to Sherwood is a big shift and I expect that it's going to be either Sherwood or Baldini out in the summer but whoever it is they probably won't deserve the boot, it's just a case of one or the other, in my opinion.

AVB fielded his favorites and so will any given coach we could bring in. While others may dictate the squad, head coach makes the XI selection and there isn't a coach without preferences. Can't see any more or less troubles with TS & Baldini than there would be on most parnterships.

That sounds like some kind of plan. Doesn't sound like us!

Well.....that is a valid point.

Like i said, none of us have line of sight into the truth, so we could be doing the standard practice of ours and hoping we don't screw things up too much at any given moment...but bracing ourselves for when inevitably it does.

Why else would Levy have sent him over if not to get the deal done?

Levy's a great businessman he can't do everything. He's always working on the non-footballing side of the club with sponsors, new stadium etc, if he had to fly around the World all summer chasing players he'd never have got anything else done.

My whole point. Maitre d'hotel, front of house.

Well 4th is the minimum Levy seems to want if Sherwood doesn't deliver we will move on to the next imo. And we start the merry go round again And prob will lose a few top players as we go Lloris Vertonghen Sandro Paulinho are all bound to be looked at by the big boys. It all comes down to stability as this team is superb their is no doubt about that but we will never achieve our goals when the board pull the trigger so quickly. I fear we are stuck in this situation until we put REAL faith in the manager we appoint and the club all pull in the right direction or Enic sell up to a rich sugar daddy we finally get the stadium built and we can compete financially with Chelsea Arsenal ect...sadly we would sell our soul but Football has become soulless anyway so if we cant beat em join em so to speak.

I'd argue that AVB gave everyone a fair chance and reacted to form.

The point you make is right though, every manager has their favourites. The trouble with Sherwood is that it goes against a lot of the recent transfer policy of the club, hence why we've got 2 players on their way out who have been at the club a year or less. The reason I don't think it will work with Sherwood and Baldini is that Sherwood is used to picking transfer targets and Baldini isn't supposed to be an overpaid scout. As I said, it's my opnion and I might be wrong but I think it makes only to keep one of them on beyond this season.

We've 2 players on their way out who have been at the club a year or less because we've lacked on planning on upper echelons and have way too overblown squad. For midfield and striker positions we've Sandro, Capoue, Bentaleb, Dembele, Paulinho, Holtby, Eriksen, Siggy, Lamela, Chadli, Lennon, Towsnend, Kane, Defoe (till end of next month), Ade and Soldado. That's 16 for 6 starting slots. Unless you rotate just for sake of it due large squad and risk losing some cohesion, there is no way keeping them on board. Unless they're winstonbogardes.

At the moment I have not see it is anything more than that.

We have a DOF. His name is Daniel Levy.

If Levy was assuming the DoF role then it wouldn't have been necessary to have a transfer committee and have Pleat consulting on a contract basis.

I can't believe we're even having this conversation, it's as clear as day that Baldini is the DoF you only have to read interviews where Sherwood talks about transfers to see that.

I'd personally be shocked if he was still here come the summer, I think it's been a pretty bizarre appointment from Day 1.

in here, i agree.

at the moment your both arguing on what you believe Levy's and Baldini's jobs at the club actually include.
Both just based on opinions and no information, let alone ITK
