To be fair to Levy, we're all acting like this two million isn't in fact £2,000,000. Look at that number, it's mental. And times that by ten, that's how much a Brazilian club want for a player who's never played at a high level outside of his home nation.

Also, are we STILL bashing Dempsey? Let it go, we've got a lot of other things you can moan at, Clint's actually been doing well for the last few games (and I say that as one of his staunchest critics).

Agree with all of that. Comes across as more like a publicity stunt than anything else. After the fantastic signings of Lloris, Vertonghen, Dembele, and now Holtby, I suspect we're capped out financially.

We're never going to spend north of £20m on one player, so apparent interest in players like Moutinho, Willian, and Leandro is simply a case of keeping up appearances of loftier ambitions than our funds allow.When it goes tits up - reel off the usual list of suspect excuses.

The problem of course is that it's becoming more and more obvious.

But, I could drop a little call in to see if anything is being talked about ?

Furry muff. Must be relaxing. The only thing worse than desperately waiting for ITK is to be in the loop I suspect. All the heartbreaking info right there and then. At least we're largely ignorant and just guessing.

I know it often feels like we're doing nothing but you always usually get that inkling that something might just come out of nowhere, but this time around I really don't. This window really does just feel like Levy is happy to just ship a couple out and be done with finishing 5/6th.

I don't normally knock Levy, i appreciate transfers aren't as easy as they seem on fifa, and that sometimes people aren't value for money. It does however feel that he really isn't massively interested in bringing anyone in this time unless it's for a couple of million. It's like we've reached a level he's quite happy at. 5/6th with the odd little tilt at 4th.

Cant see that being true. Why would he settle for 5th and 6th when we can realistcially challenge for 60+million a year extra in the champions league?

Only difference is that on FM it actually works :/

It worked with Darren Bent hence Sunderland desperate for him to play and Villa refusing, as it stands we made more money than Sunderland did with bent
