If Lovren's fee is difficult for us to pay how are we going to pay Lallana's?

It is almost double the speculated Lovren fee

Levy balks at asking price, player hands in trans req, player goes on strike, Levy plays hard ball, deal goes to deadline day, player stays at club and says sorry to fans, manager dosnt get the one player he really wants, gets three he hasnt asked for .. typical Levy .. move along, nothing new here.

It probably depends on someone leaving whether or not he's targeted, If an acceptable bid comes in for a player like say Paulinho, Lamela or whoever then the incoming funds would probably go towards Lallana. Attacking players will usually cost more & clubs will be reluctant to outlay a large fee for defenders.

Tell that to Moyes and Fellaini. It's an advantage for a new player to come to a club with a manager they already know, but let's not get mixed up here. Southampton were allowed a lot more space to attack other teams and play their football, but except for under Tim (when people thought we were there for the taking), when do teams ever really come and attack us at WHL and give us space? It's the same reason I don't want Lukaku, he is not the right striker to break down a parked bus, he'll come up against different styles of play to when he was at Everton or West Brom, and I think Mourinho's willingness to get rid shows he doesn't think he's capable of playing against packed defences. Not saying Lallana isn't either, but moving from Southampton to Tottenham would still mean a lot of adaptation, despite us having his old manager.

Oh I agree that these things are never set in stone, but I think it's more likely that Poch will understand the type of player that Lallana is and be able to judge if he can work within the system at spurs, at least more than signing a player that you only see on a Saturday afternoon. Plus, Fellaini is one example of this not working, but there are many other cases where players have followed managers to bigger clubs and had success.

Would you feel satisfied if we bring Caulker and Hector Moreno and let Daws and Kaboul go?

Moreno for Daws certainly - I'm still yet to be convinced that Kaboul is done. I think there has been a lot of talk about him without anyone knowing the facts. Truth is the medical team at PSurs will have been monitoring his fitness and physical atributes on a weekly basis for the past 18 months or so and only those proffesionals will be able to tell if he is still improving or if he has reached his maximum. Its been so stop start since his injury that his sharpness is bound to have dropped and i accept his performances last season were not always the best BUT i cant tell from that if he is done and finished. So, in short, IF Kaboul has the potential to return to previous levels of display then no i wouldn't get rid, IF the experts think not i would accept his departure (although i dont think Caulker is the right man to bring back).

I don't want Caulker back, I don't want to lose Daws either. Moreno hasn't looked too bad in the WC but presumably Poch preferred Lovren, so it suggests that even a manager who has worked with him a few seasons has doubts.
If I thought Eunice could recover his pre injury form I'd be more than happy to see him stay but there has to be serious concern that he won't after so long.
If we had to replace him then I would have preferred Garay than Moreno and would rather we went for Astori or Lovren

Not sure multi million pound footballers need to sell before they move.

If Dawson is happy to play a bit part role in the team, and knows he is NOT first choice and will NOT be first choice anymore, and is happy to stay and play the ocassional game in the EL/FAC/LC then fine.

If not, we should cash in whilst we still have the chance.
He's already proved he'd be happy to stay and fight for his place when he turned down that move to QPR, and he was still in the frame for England at that time. We should keep him as one of the 4 CB's, to me its not about being a 'back-up player', all 4/5 CB's should have a chance of starting if they play well enough when given opportunity's.

I was dissastisfied with Caulker when he was turning out for us, so I'll be doubly dissatisfied if we bring him back. Moreno I really haven't seen anything of, but I'm afraid that anyone who believes Kaboul is going to return to what he was in 2011-12 is kidding himself, so yes.

Maybe the club want to sell Dawson because this will be probably the last summer that we can get a good fee for him. Hes 31 now, the club will not want to keep him until 33-34+ and see him retire or get a smaller fee in the future.

Don't ever complain about players' lack of loyalty, will you?
