would be underwhelmed if deadline day attacking wise just gives us Gomes and Llorente

Llorente looking more and more likely, albeit with Chelsea lurking it's not wise to get too confident. All the ITK has been focussed on a WF with pace, all sources say that's where we're focussing, so my guess would be Llorente, Gomes/Barkley and a WF.

Not denying interest in Gomes is real, wonder if it’s part of smokescreen to get Everton to lower Barkley price?

Looks as though we've moved on, Toffees may get twitchy

100% this. Gomes doesn't quite make sense, more a CM, which would impact Winks and Onomah in the longer term. Not sure he's good enough to warrant that. Everton know they need to sell this window realistically. Everything we've been told is Barkley wants us and us only. If we're really confident on that, we can afford to go to the wire and see who blinks first. Everton know that his value effectively halves once the window closes tonight.

There was talk that Poch saw Barkley as a centre midfielder in the Dembele role. With Onomah on loan and Barkley deal at risk of not going through, a loan move for Gomes *could* be a good stop gap.

Aurier announced nice and early. Llorente early afternoon and then play the waiting game for pace?

The talk of ssn has reminded me of something I was told last year. One of spurs kids coaches alleged to a mate who he worked with elsewhere that Sky pay clubs to delay announcing transfers to build up the deadline day drama.
The way he told it this time last year as they were making a big thing of sissoko heading to Everton for a medical, he was actually sat at our training ground all signed up and eating his lunch; while getting funny looks from the guys watching said ssn coverage!
Something to consider re Aurier perhaps?

Edit: or maybe not.
