Baldini working on transfers already for us would be nothing new for him....he was doing the same for Roma before he was announced there as well.

Modric?

Was as secret as you'll get. I don't think we knew until it was reported by The Sun in the early hours one day.

Newcastle were also trying to sign him. Wenger had rejected him on the basis he thought he was too weak for the prem. He wasn't under the radar, we were just the the first/best team to be prepared to pay 16m for him and give him the salary he wanted.

Back in the good ol' days when Levy didn't mess about with signings.

Chelsea and Mourinho are far too well stocked with promising, and well... beyond promising attacking midfielders.
Mourinho will want proven players and giant uber men; the last thing in the world he'll want is a 5"4 midget child Brazilian playmaker.

With David Luiz, Ramires and Oscar whispering in his ear about him I'm not too convinced.

Oh for fuck's sake, Modric, widely lauded as one if the best players in the world in his position, makes sense to Mourinho.
He doesn't operate on the level of promising youngster, especially since he has a raft of similar young players for AM. He will buy winners and solid pros.
Mourinho going to Chelsea is great news for our transfer prospects, and bad for our top 4 chances.

I'd be so pissed off if Modric went to the chavs, can definitely see it happening though.

I'd be happy with just Villa and Bernard this window - Not being too greedy? I would prefer two more additions but hey ho.

Villa and Bernard would be awesome if they were are two major signings. The biggie being keeping Bale.

Throw in a few speculative purchases/some prudent cover and I would be over the moon!
