So much for giving poch his own way, fucking grealish ?
Herc's ITK specifically indicated that the "meh" player, who has since been identified as Grealish, was Poch's first choice for the position in the squad he would take (presumably Eriksen's backup).

I actually don’t mind JG - I thought he was massively improved last year in terms of attitude and contribution albeit in the championship - villa are seriously in the shit and no one else in the top six would need him - won’t cost a lot and could end up being a player - if not not much lost

We aren’t about to sign jack grealish nor have we enquiried. And there will be no contract announcement s this week.

Back to lurking.

Mate if you've got some inside info make sure that you let A&C know before you post it otherwise you could be banned. I'd delete that post if you haven't already spoken to him.

What's funny is that we are going to be trying for Martial all window, he's not going to come as United wont sell to a rival and we'll be stuck with Rondon or nobody anyway. But Its baffling to me that we're still after him and the only other option to Martial(a winger) is seemingly an out and out striker. Ridiculous recruitment strategy yet again. After Martial and Pulisic, sign Grealish and Rondon. Its shit like this that you can point to when we ask why we're void of quality in our depth every year.

Also, the fact that its either Grealish or Pulisic is an embarrasement. One is much better and younger with elite potential on and off the pitch. The other is older, not as good, doesnt have as much potential and wouldnt even be worth £20m if he was coming from a foreign league. So we're paying the english league bonus anyway but getting a discount off it because Villa are tumbling ever closer towards administration(in which case, we'd likely get Grealish cheaper hysterically enough).

I'm well happy with Grealish. Fits the mould, bags of potential and a different attacking option for us. Bring it on!

I can't say I've watched him enough to know one way or the other. But if in this instance he was a player that Poch really liked and felt that he could get something more out of him... then cool beans!

There is a dearth of homegrown talent around, it seems to me. Would have obviously preferred Sancho or somebody like that to fill a spot, but Grealish does tick a lot of boxes and the Villa fans idolise him.

I don’t want to build him up before (if) he signs, but he could prove to be a mercurial talent and probably better than Gazza

Do you ever, ever have anything positive to say??

If Martial is agreed to by the WC then i think fans can be happy overall with the start of the window. However, if he is not a Spur by then, fans have every right to worry IMO due to past windows. A Martial deal that drags and drags and drags is one that likely doesn't happen and then what is option #2?
