Were you when he tripped over the ball trying to control it and put Mata clean through at WHL ?

I reckon I've got more of these than you.

Fuck me we have someone on here dissecting every fucking single mistake that our right back made last season..... it's a fucking ITK thread.

This from the guy using page after page on here yesterday to try and justify his position on the right to challenge materiel from ITK contributors.

Jeezzzzzzzzzzz headache tablet anyone?

Same old. Bale going/staying. Livermore to replace king, bernard in the ukraine, and our pitch has been infested with something but noones talking on what. Oh and we're getting 2 dutch players that might not be dutch or even players.

hope that clears everything up.

Can we coin a new term if we pull off a double Dutch signing by saying we've done a Malcolm?

Listen, people never seem to understand this, the coach (AVB) sees Livermore a lot more than we do! He sees him in training day in and day out! AVB also has a track record of getting the best out of certain individuals (a certain Welshmen comes to mind and to an extent Defoe (for 1st half of season) and Lennon and I believe Walker is improving massively under his guidance)! If AVB believes Livermore's future at the club is as a CB then all we can and SHOULD do is back both AVB and Livermore rather than accepting defeat every time Livermore plays at CB! Players should not be abused for their coach testing them out in a new position (I mean sure I wouldn't argue if Livermore was sold this window, but if AVB rates him then I can only trust his judgement and back the team!) I would still be highly surprised if a new CB wasn't bought in this window, but the abuse on Livermore is unacceptable and the defeatist attitude doesn't help! AVB is building a squad of versatile players, he is only trying to get the best out of Livermore and mould him into a useful squad utility player! To reiterate, the coach knows more than we do and he is in his current position (Manager of THFC) because of his exceptional ability to see potential and ability in players we (mere mortals) don't! We (as supporters of this beautiful club) can only support the manager in what he believes is best for the club and players!
PS just because he had a bad game against Monaco doesn't mean we should just dump him on the transfer list! (besides he's a 23 year old player learning a new position shoved in front of a 50 million rated striker, give him a chance!)
PSS I realise its a long post so I've highlighted the main points! :)

I think you are way off there, Livermore was simply a stop gap for a meaningless friendly. You can paint AVB as having a great track record of getting the best out of players, but for every player you might argue he has there are others you can argue he hasn't. Personally I thought Walker was awful last year, but you can't say Ade improved last season, JD? same problem as the season before started well and faded, Benny? Naughton? Caulker?

I actually think Bale was simply stepping up from the previous season because he had started learning to play the free role and played it pretty much a half season and improved his game

But that's not really the point, the relevant point is he does see players day to day, he must talk with them, understand their weaknesses and strengths, understand what motivates them and demotivates them and if he feels a certain player can be moulded to fill a specific or a variety of roles then fair enough. he is the coach, for sure he should be in a better position than we are to judge. It doesn't always mean he can get that player filling the role he planned of course and it doesn't always mean that because he plays a player in a different role that is where he sees them, sometimes it's as simple as I want to watch x y and z in those roles, I need a player to fill a hole for the day I'll throw v in there as I wasn't planning to really check him out and it'll solve the problem

As with all managers you give them leeway to show what they can offer but none will get everything right and they will all get criticised at times for those mistakes, the important thing though is having a manager or coach if you like who learns from them. I really don't care if AVB wants to try a few things out or to simply find a short term fix to a problem, I just don't want someone pushing for something too long if it doesn't work

Thanks mate.

One thing is clear to me - we have clearly stepped up in PR front. Can't remember the last time when a director came out public before a player deal and also @SpursOfficial acting way out of character.

Looks like this Bale thing is coming to end for good or bad...

ITK on where Walker will play in the next game today from LLM. We are discussing the merits of that.

Your whining on the other hand has fuck all to do with ITK.

This twitter outburst is a funny one! Spurs recently got a new "tweeter" and this person has shown themselves to be quite slow and odd, tonight whoever this person is seems to have snapped and begun to directly interact with fans over the issue of Bale being taken down from certain adverts, replying to people with witty and sarcastic comments! Nothing particularly to read into just something to be enjoyed as a change from the old corporate feel of an official twitter account! ;)
The Mills interview again I see as nothing to read into, he is simply expressing what we already know, that the Bale situation is incredibly delicate and unclear, although tbf he is a non-executive director, so probably doesn't spend much time around the training pitch and is himself unclear of the situation! He made comments about "several targets in the pipeline" and that we are still looking for attacking reinforcements! At the most, he is probably confirming we still intend to offload either Ade or Defoe or that just in general we are looking to add quality in depth! The Goat has apparently indicated that we intend on signing either two dutchman or two players from dutch league (one of whom many people believe to be Toby Alderweireld and the other, people believe, to be either Eriksen, Blind, Martins Indi, de Vrij, Huntelaar etc (no one really knows, it was a cryptic itk message to stop people talking about Bale)) Apart from The Goat's cryptic message we haven't had much itk today regarding transfers, LLM mentioned AVB is converting Livermore to a CB and that kicked up a lot of fuss because not many people on here rate Livermore at all! Apart from that it's been a quiet day! All seems good atm and Bale turned up to training today again so :)

Livermore as CB ? Not a bad option.
He needs to understand the positional play, of course.

While he is not upto standards as a CM, one thing I can say is, he never makes mistakes. In the games he has played for us, I cannot remember a single goal resulted because of his mistakes. I guess Haryy & now AVB is giving him a run in team is exactly down to this reason - he is not perfect, but he listens and sticks to game plan and keep things simple. Often we played him in past with Parker or Sandro or Hudd , which clearly didnt work due to the combination.

CB obviously a big challenge - If he learns faster, I will support him.

The centre back ITK is worrying. I'd like to see us sign two centre backs. Another 'Noureddine Naybet' figure would be excellent. I remember the efficient, experienced, gutsy, clinical, reassurance he brought to our defence in 2004. He walked into our defence like he'd been there for 10 years.

A player like of that kind - with a young, talented, up and coming centre back, and our centre back worries would be relieved somewhat.

I do think Kyle Walker can do a job there though, if we ever really needed to call on him to do so. I remember being impressed when he debuted at centre back. In fact, I remember many on this very site being impressed with his performance.

On the contrary, I believe both the things has got everything to do with Bale. At a club where everything is dealt secretly, 2 things happening out of place is not coincidence - especially on the eve of Madrid negotiations (if we believe wha Marca says ??!!)
