ITK on where Walker will play in the next game today from LLM. We are discussing the merits of that.

Your whining on the other hand has fuck all to do with ITK.

None of you posts on Walker from what i have read are about where he should play, rather that when he plays (according to you) he just fucks up.

You the one whining, ITK or not.

I think you are way off there, Livermore was simply a stop gap for a meaningless friendly. You can paint AVB as having a great track record of getting the best out of players, but for every player you might argue he has there are others you can argue he hasn't. Personally I thought Walker was awful last year, but you can't say Ade improved last season, JD? same problem as the season before started well and faded, Benny? Naughton? Caulker?

I actually think Bale was simply stepping up from the previous season because he had started learning to play the free role and played it pretty much a half season and improved his game

But that's not really the point, the relevant point is he does see players day to day, he must talk with them, understand their weaknesses and strengths, understand what motivates them and demotivates them and if he feels a certain player can be moulded to fill a specific or a variety of roles then fair enough. he is the coach, for sure he should be in a better position than we are to judge. It doesn't always mean he can get that player filling the role he planned of course and it doesn't always mean that because he plays a player in a different role that is where he sees them, sometimes it's as simple as I want to watch x y and z in those roles, I need a player to fill a hole for the day I'll throw v in there as I wasn't planning to really check him out and it'll solve the problem

As with all managers you give them leeway to show what they can offer but none will get everything right and they will all get criticised at times for those mistakes, the important thing though is having a manager or coach if you like who learns from them. I really don't care if AVB wants to try a few things out or to simply find a short term fix to a problem, I just don't want someone pushing for something too long if it doesn't work

I appreciate your comments :) Ade and Benny did struggle last season but a lot of that can be put down to lack of pre-season, AFCON (Ade) and injury(BAE's knee)! Defoe as well struggled with injury after Christmas and was unable to rest and recover due to Ade's participation in AFCON, Caulker was always gonna seem a bit raw because of his age and Naughton was playing most of his games in an unnatural position! I've already expressed why I think Walker has improved in a previous post! With regards to Bale, both Bale and AVB have said that they have a special relationship because of the close work AVB has done w/ Bale, Redknapp relied mainly on motivation to get the best out of players, he rarely drilled them for certain aspects of their game, Bale has become a world-beater due to his improved attacking and tactical mentality, his confidence has rocketed sky-high and both AVB and Bale have expressed this was down to AVB's extremely tactical approach to players and games! LLM has also reported that AVB's plan is to convert Livermore into a natural CB, so that's why I'm suggesting we support AVB's decision. I believe it makes sense as well, Livermore's simple attitude to play as well as his passing technique could be an extremely effective weapon to have at CB if we are dominating a game and pressing high up the pitch (which is AVB's preferred tactic) That OK, hope thats cleared a lot up :)

Theres a few people with access to the social media password.

the sad part is they will be be disciplined for interacting with fans. As that is not the way donna cullen wants things done.

just praying it aint the rather attractive girl I am trying to seduce!

On the contrary, I believe both the things has got everything to do with Bale. At a club where everything is dealt secretly, 2 things happening out of place is not coincidence - especially on the eve of Madrid negotiations (if we believe wha Marca says ??!!)

Well we don't believe Marca do we! ;) As I said I would be surprised if an outburst from a new tweeter means anything spectacular! and i believe Mills was just trying to show that we are calm and cool at Spurs over the Bale situation and that we are prepared for any eventuality (btw I strongly believe Bale is staying, and these sorts of comments form those associated w/ THFC are to be expected, so don't worry ;) )

Wasn't interacting directly though.

I was hoping this was sent downwards from the high up persons!

Edit: Also I don't see how that adds up about the no interaction element? We're always tweeting out pre-match to hear predictions and to give shout outs... Also mentioning new fan groups etc.

Livermore as CB ? Not a bad option.
He needs to understand the positional play, of course.

While he is not upto standards as a CM, one thing I can say is, he never makes mistakes. In the games he has played for us, I cannot remember a single goal resulted because of his mistakes. I guess Haryy & now AVB is giving him a run in team is exactly down to this reason - he is not perfect, but he listens and sticks to game plan and keep things simple. Often we played him in past with Parker or Sandro or Hudd , which clearly didnt work due to the combination.

CB obviously a big challenge - If he learns faster, I will support him.

I guess committing loads of fouls doesn't count as a mistake in your book?

That said, I agree and like the simplicity of his play - sometimes it is exactly what is needed.

We all read the Jason Burt article tonight?
Sounds legit to me... over in the Bale thread cos y'know, we don't play that game in here any more :(

EDIT: and i'm bringing it up here cos I knew nothing of it until I wandered over to the Telegraph site MYSELF, and to be honest it's a disgrace that I had to do my own work finding it ;)

They just signed Brayford, I would be surprised if they were after Naughton

Who doesnt commit fouls playing in DMF role ?. His role has been to stop other team. As I said - he is not perfect and not fit what we need in CM (ie to be a bit more creative & score goals too) but fact is he has never costs us a game.

Whilst there may be a few people with access to the twitter feed, I severely doubt that anybody would have the complete and utter stupidity to start tweeting about Gareth, when the whole club has been in lockdown pretty much RE Bale for a week or two now. I mean really ? Could anybody be that daft ?

Very deliberate move I reckon.

Livermore is referred to as 'The Gamechanger' in the chatroom, as we seemed to win almost every game when he came on as a sub. That's a skill you can't teach. However I don't think it went as well when he actually started matches.

Storts said similar earlier in Hudd thread, said Cardiff were interested.

I think Livermore is unlucky. When he comes in he does little wrong to my eyes, is entirely defensively focused and efficient & you kinda wish he had just 1% mentality to attack. This is why he could do well converting to defence. Sadly for him, whenever he seems to start or play good minutes, we are fucking poor. Witness: Last year 2 tepid home draws vs WBA and Norwich plus defeats away at Newcastle, Inter and Liverpool.
Not sure if it's his fault.

I don't believe there's much behind this rumor of Anzhi transfer listing most of their team! They just re-signed Samba for crying-out loud! Having said that I wouldn't be surprised if we began enquiring about Willian considering his apparent "friendship" with AVB (which includes them apparently sitting in bed texting each other ;) ) and the fact that we still seem to be in the market for further attacking options! Willian also seems willing to leave Anzhi and play in England in a bid to boost his WC 14 chances! I imagine he'd take a wage cut from his inflated Russian wages in order to make this happen as well! He also fits into AVB's philosophy of having a squad brimming with young, versatile and mobile players! :) He wouldn't come too cheaply but if we're apparently interested in Bernard and Eriksen I reckon he'd cost around the same!

LLM have you got any news regarding incomings you can can share?

The three d'ohs may give you a clue that you probably shouldn't be asking questions of that particular poster ...
