So the 150 million war chest isn't really 150 million?

Conte's exact words a few days ago were that it would be stupid to try and spend all of our money straight away.

I think what he meant was that it will take several windows to nail every position because Romero, Kulu, Bentancur level signings simply aren't obtainable to us in every position we're strengthening this summer.

In any case by my reckoning (after Udogie) we've spent £111.5m + potential £26.5m in add ons, and received £35m + potential £14.5m in add ons.

So we've shelled out net £76.5m + net add ons of £12.5m (or as high as £26.5m).

We've also substantially raised our wage liabilities (if not the wage bill itself) by I'd estimate £50-100m over the course of various contracts, which is why it's imperative we move players on.

Or we'll spent a large chunk of the £150m subsidising loans or paying players to train alone. And the more bloated the squad, the less leverage we have, and the more we'll get low balled window after window.

Another thing is that although the 150m has a time limit on when it has to be drawn down, that doesn't mean we have to spend it immediately. We can leave a chunk in the bank till January.

we still want a defender not a young one a top one who will be a starter

conte would like 3 players , def, mid and attacking mid , the problem is we have hardly got any money coming in for the outgoings, geo we are still paying 20% of his wages, we are doing everything we can to get the wage bill down so we can make more signings
Top bit is really good news. It should actually be the priority over the AM, as much as we need one of those too.

As positive as the window has been so far, I’m not salivating over it just yet. The information about what Conte still wants seems completely on point, and while it’s also reasonable to recognise we probably can’t do all this in one window, we certainly need another attacking option (a WF) as soon as possible. We looked flat up top for large sections of the game on Sunday; Richarlison shook things up a bit but we’d only be one injury away from having to rely on Moura, which isn’t great for a team of our aspirations and demands

Now this is what we want to hear! Really glad we still want 3 in and one of them being a decent defender.

Outgoings as always an issue because no one wants our cast offs. We are starting to see a bit of movement on he outs now so hopefully we can finish the window as strong as we started it. Get those 3 positions and I think we could do anything this season. No further signings and yes pretty decent window but we’ll still be a good 3 players short of where conte needs us to be to be genuine title challengers, we are getting closer and closer but yesterdays game and performance showed that we are not quite there yet, another 2-3 top quality signings and get a few more of this summers signings up to speed and integrated into the first XI into and we will be able to go toe to toe with anyone I believe.

Let’s hope with final few weeks of the windows a few more decent offers come in for the ones we are trying to move on.

Agree with the best parts, out of curiosity who do we have remaining that would fetch “decent offers” if you assume Gio & Ndom have already gone?

I see Reggie leaving on loan and I’m not sure what money Winks would fetch?

Someone who can defend and someone who can pass would be the icing on the cake if we can shift some players as the ITK suggests.

Waiting could be risky as there’s no guarantee of where we’ll finish so maybe it would be worth compromising if there are other options available.

Whatever happens though it’s been a fantastic summer window already so no stress and hopefully Lenglet can have a good season.

Yeah, I doubt that buy option will be taken up...

Wonder how much of his wages we're covering?

Yeah 30 sounds too high haha. But hey, if Napoli want to pursue it then it would mean he at least did okay so there may be more than one eventual purchaser
