Yes. Absolutely I do.

Me too. Levy will no doubt have Blamed Harry for the decline last season....i know theirs been alot of talk about Mouts and that for me was a long shot £20m+ in January?? il love it IF it happens but lets be right we've been here before!! we ended up with Nelson or whatever his name is and Saha!!. Along with that Creative mid we also STILL need a Prolific goal scorer. I see Damiao's name spring up AGAIN!! im sick of the guy tbh and not to mention how much his transfer will be! 15m+ and i think that's being very optimistic. I know its only the 3rd but for once i will not build my hopes up Levy has form for NOT bringing home the goods in Jan...for once i wont have a melt down when it doesn't happen.....but hold out hope that he proves us wrong!! Back AVB or the board should do one!!.

I'd prefer a striker, I think a midfielder can wait till the summer. Our goals to shot ratio is pathetic.

how good is Fryers?

A good mate of mine is a passionate Manure fan and was raving about Fryers as a great young player and was gutted that they were unable to hang on to him. Clearly he is unlikely to jump into the first team but looks like a super prospect for the future. The DL "game plan" was flagged at the end of last season and it will be a masterstroke if he pulls it off.

Because most of those shots are coming from outside of the area, which in turn is because we haven't had the creativity to create many clear cut chances.

Put a Modric or a VdV in behind Adebayor and he'll score plenty.

This is not meant to sound as provoke-laden as it does:

When was the last time someone moved for mega money in January? I may have to caveat that by saying "and is actually any good"?

Off the top of my head, in recent history the obvious ones are:

Torres, Carroll, Suarez and Cahill.

Agree, and as such Moutinho would be be the preferred option over an attacking midfield player this window IMO.

If it is to be a straight choice between Moutinho and Willian for example i would want Mouts every time. It may even be a choice between Mouts and Holtby on the basis of the wages that the latter one seems to want.

Surly we have greater need for a Mata/Silva/Cazorla type? Not another holding/defensive midfielder?

Given that Holtby is 22 he won't be free surely? Under the Bosman ruling it was players over 23 that could move with no transfer fee I thought.

He is out of contract in the summer. Surely you don't pay for someone out of contract!

Mouts isn't a holding player though. He's more of a box-to-box type player.

Personally i think our biggest current weakness is our lack of ball retention and calmness in midfield when we are under pressure.

The reading result would have been a different one if they had a half decent striker as they missed a couple of sitters, those chances came from weakness in midfield IMO.

It's why Dembele is such a crucial player in our team. But what happens if he gets injured again? I think we can create enough chances for us to score at least 1 goal per game without signing anyone. But without signing someone i can't see us conceding much less than we have been so far this season.

Plus i think Sigurdsson is starting to come good, he could prove to be an effective AM player like he was at Swansea during the second half of this season, especially if he has a lone striker like Ade in front of him, rather than Defoe.

That all being said i think if we can't get Moutinho then we can still have a decent season by bringing in the sort of attacking midfielder you've mentioned, we will likely score more goals, which should offset those that we ship.

Apparently we'd like to sign Benzema in the summer.

Dembele out should cause

- Defoe
- Dembele

+ Parker
+ Siggy

trailling with - 15 - 30 minutes left

- Sandro
+ Defoe or Dempsey

Don't think we are as clueless as we were when Dembele was out with Parker back and Ade healthy.

I have to admit I know little of Moutinho - I've only watched him a couple of times. I still dont think we will spend the monies being asked. Our midfield is very strong and I dont see your "ball retention and calmness" problems. Also Parker is starting to look very good.

What about this Holtby talk - what do people think of him?

Sturridge does not count, as he does not pass the caveat test. ;)

Hello lovelies - I've almost finished my Swindon exile. Soon you'll get more fun posts from me. Bet you can't wait EH?

Is he related to Osama Bin?
