Llotente's buy out clause is something in the region of £40m is it not ? Something like $70m ?

This season we're on target for champions with the lowest points tally in ages. City have spent £200m on about £75m worth of players, Chelsea have regressed, this is the worst United side I've seen in a long time and Arsenal are no better than they have been in recent seasons.
We have had worse results this season than last overall and we're still in with a chance of a top 4 finish.
That said we need to upgrade where we can in order to further compete.
And yet, we're 3 pts and 20 goals worse off than the a team in 4th who have had their worst league run in probably a decade. As for the rest - right now, all those teams you mentioned and all their problems are above us and on course for top 4. It's far from over but this picture is hardly rosy either.

If what Mr Ballegue said is true and we met the buy out clause. I cannot see Levy not offering the extra for taxes and coming back empty handed.

I think todays team selection tells us a lot about why we are having problems in the transfer market. We have a massive game on wednesday night which realistically we have to win to keep top 4 aspirations alive. The cup is nice but it is the perfect opportunity to use our squad and keep key players fresh particularly when Bale is injured. However Harry does not seem to trust players outside of his top 13/14 hence no jj corluka cranky etc. This lack of trust I think is coming through into Harrys view of our transfer targets - if he cant trust his squad members how difficult must it be for him to feel comfortable going for overseas players he has never had contact with. i think thats why he keeps trying to sign either players he has previously managed or players he has seen year after year in the prem. To me (and I am a massive Harry fan) this is a massive problem for us in the transfer market and is shown by Harry failing to be decisive about signing players outside of his comfort zone.

They should have started.

I think you maybe on to something here!

Surely Harry would be aware of this tax situation before he put in an offer. Or is it somethign the selling team would normally pay?
