How long is Carroll out injured for? I can see a £30M bid tomorrow as mental as that sounds..

Because yanited, le scum and citeh have all improved. Chelsea have had a 3 month period where they've basically been fisting themselves on live telly. They they are all above as things stand right now. Pool have their well documented problems and yet, should we get nothing from the Blackburn game, which is more than possible, they will be right behind us in the league and aren't a million miles away right now.

Last yr was great but it has little bearing on this season. Staying still = regression. The impact just one signing (VDV) has made is fantastic and a big reason why we're still even in touch. Imagine if we had got the striker and maybe even a CB to go with VDV. We might be in pole position to get top 4 again this season too.

Personally I think the difficulty we've had in shifting some of the current players has hamstrung us a little. Jenas, Pav etc have been 'out there' since the summer and here they still are.
This season we're on target for champions with the lowest points tally in ages. City have spent £200m on about £75m worth of players, Chelsea have regressed, this is the worst United side I've seen in a long time and Arsenal are no better than they have been in recent seasons.
We have had worse results this season than last overall and we're still in with a chance of a top 4 finish.
That said we need to upgrade where we can in order to further compete.

How fucking depressing that we are scaving around like this when we've needed this type of striker for the best part of a year.

Fucking jokers.
It's not that simple apparently. A yr is barely enough time to think, let alone target a player. You then have to do all kinds of stuff like match the value the selling club want (I mean it's not like THFC does that themselves is it?) and then also we're not in the CL so it's harder to attract decent players in certain positions.

Hang on...

Just said on sky that we have...

Bid for Llorente at buy out clause however taxes have stopped it!
Bid for Negredo of seville however this was rejected!

I thought if Levy saw our performance today then taxes wouldn't be an issue?

Problem is, even if we match the transfer fee, would Llorente actually come to us? I'd presume we'd have had a chat with his reps before making a move?

Yeah what I mean is attack with strikers who put the ball away, of course that tactics won't work with our current set of strikers.

I might be being an idiot but I thought the buy out clause were only appliciable to Spainish teams and not to those outside La Liga. So even if we meet the clause they dont have to accpet it? Probally completley wrong!

Nothing but rejection :-(

I still think we will make a few signings though.

Harrys interview on ESPN sounded like a man who didn't want to reveal much in my opinion.
