I think we are well stacked now, save if more outgoings are announced (not counting Lennon/Adebayor).

I know Son and N'jie are "forwards", but they are not equipped to lead the line. How can we be well stacked when we still only have on true CF? I just don't get it. We will run Harry Kane into the ground.

He's two footed, he's bold and daring, but this... this is the best!

Nice research @Stoof

Very, very happy about Son.:):):):):)

That's shamelessly stolen from about 4 different posters on here and about 10 different Twitter accounts.

Me too - best signing of the window for me.

The words you missed out from this sentence are "if we don't sign another forward; which I have seen from both the manager and various ITKs that we are clearly after in addition to the wide forwards".

Of course. I was just responding to the view that we'd be fine if we didn't........which we won't.

That's fine, we can just disagree. (y)
I think it is likely that 1 will leave whom we would have been fine keeping. In that scenario, sure get a clean cut CF.
But my comments are based on how the squad looks this very second.
Pochettino's backup plan (secondary formation/alternative to no Kane understudy) looks like a form of a 4-6-0/false #9 formation.

Will people please stop mentioning Austin

1) Every ITK says there is zero interest in him

2) He would never pass a medical with us

3) There is a reason QPR have been unable to shift him this summer

Which makes a good case for another look at the Austin chappy, rightly we needed pace and we appear now to have that so a year loan perhaps with an option could be good business.
I don't know if this is the no 9 but his context has changed no we have N'jie and Son. This of course includes waiting for Berahino next summer.

Signing them early or signing them late is not the point I was making. It's about doing the research and having a long term plan of where we are going. The "Super Bale 7" as you put it were imo opportunistic buys that represented quality(where they were playing at that time) but not necessarily the correct fit for purpose. This is why so much of it has not worked out, and why it has cost us two seasons of floundering not to mention a fair bit of money.

Getting in Mitchell and overhauling the scouting and analysis set up completely has cost an awful lot of time and money. No way has Levy done this in order to spend the entire transfer window pissing about, only to sign available journey men in the last couple of days. The hits we have taken on players this window have been substantial, and yet we are still signing players for significant fee's, and there is still more to come. I know the net spend detectives will be out in force now, trying to work out just who we have to sell to make anything else happen, but perhaps just perhaps, what we have been saying all along(things have changed this time round) is actually true.

Trix, I like this post a lot, and I hope many here read this and understand it.

It's anot about marquee signings anymore, or big names, it's about creating a club (I use the word club meaning the whole club) where we can not only progress players through the ranks, but subside the first team with players that are actually needed in positions that are critical.

This window does have a very different 'feel' about it, and I was very excited about the fact we started with our biggest problem last year (defence).

Yes we are still light up top and in the middle (defensive middle) and I expect these to be addressed before the window closes, but whom we bring in, I trust the methods and people that have been brought in, thus leaving Poch to continue building this season.

Still very excited about this year, and looking forward to see the completed squad come Tuesday evening.

I gave this an agree and thought I'd highlight the real important part.(y)(y)
