I would be absolutely staggered if Real Madrid at this stage of the transfer window offered us that amount for Modric.

I reckon no later than Monday we'll be having a wankfest over pictures of him on the OS. There, I said it. It'll never happen now.

I've got my lube at the ready...

But come 00:01am Tuesday morning and I'm still full to the balls with my Vertonghen juice then, mark my words A&C, I'm coming for you!

Peace!!

£38m

Lot of money. I'd be surprised if they did offer that much! I would have thought it would be £££+player(s)

If this is true then it shows they're seriously interested I guess.

If he is to go then I hope it's to Real Madrid.

We have turned down £38 million from Real Madrid !!

Erm..

If that's true I hope we're waiting to see if they will pay more...an dif they do I hope we take it. He wants out, and if we're not careful we could end up with an indifferent or negative presence in the dressing room, with a rapidly dropping value.

Madrid would be a great destination for him. It gives us some decent money, plus we don't strengthen our rivals. I'd rather chew off my nuts with a mouthful of vinegar than watch us sell one of ourt best players to United or Chavski.

Take the money (if and when they increase it) and maybe make a deal with them on one of their players as well.

Just think what we could do with £38m...

Get Dembele on a cheap, use about £26m on a 'triffic striker and the rest to pay their wages.

I Don't believe that they would put in an opening offer that high. I would have expected them to start off about 30m, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Could be wrong mind.

Maybe Modric doesn't want to go...

38 million as an opening bid at this stage of the window seems too good to be true, given that Madrid will be aware of our preference to sell abroad as well.

If this is accurate, could turn out quite well all things considered.

this time last year i'd've said no way jose, but modric has given us another year and we've failed to get cl football so i think it's time he moved on and we try and plan for life without him. i doubt this rumour though.

38mill wow.....if we get them up a tad more then can realistically see him going. Means he goes abroad, does not strengthen our rivals and gives us money to play with to find a goal scoring replacement and hopefully money over to get the striker we so badly need
