This is my take on it, could be wrong but logically thinking, Benzema has agreed to join Spurs but this has been kept under wraps until now because Man City don't want any part in making Spurs stronger, so until the Adebayor deal was signed sealed and delivered this had to be kept quiet, Now thats done, This can happen.

Maybe this goes back to the bigfwigs meeting last night??

The fact Liverpool are after him is a concern though, they pretty much offered Cole double what we could in wages and would certainly be able to blow us out of the water in terms of Benzema's wages

I'd be mighty surprised if we got benzema... i'll echo the other guys that talked about wages.. this guy's pay check is supposed to be massive... he'd need to take a crazy drop in pay to join us.... Unless most things i've read about him in the last while is wrong.
