Personally I really want Suarez, and think he'd be guaranteed to fit into the EPL and us, but I can understand us pursuing Benzema, as he also fits the bill in terms of the Uber type.

More than feasibile I would of thought.

Who's up for a SC mass suicide pact if on Feb. 1 our strikers are Crouch, Defoe, and Carlton Cole?

There seems to be a few extreme views flying around here.

He's had a rather poor time at Madrid, no doubt exacerbated by his own self inflicted personal issues, but he does have all the ingredients in terms of physique and technique, it's just a case of putting them together on a regualr basis. One need look no further than Mario Gomez for evidence that flopping initially after a big money move is not reason to fully write off a young forward, Gomez is now looking like the best centre forward in Europe.

I will say that I agree with the notion that Benzema isn't the greatest 'back to goal' player, but he can't really be any worse than our current crop at this skill and it's not really what we need anyway. We need somebody who can use his physical and technical gifts to his advantage to be able to actually offer a goal threat for the mass amount of chances we create (most balls put into the box in the league, fact!) and, with some confidence and perhaps the luck of one going in off his arse, Benzema may well be that. He is faster, stronger and more mobile than both Pavlyuchenko and Crouch, and he is twice the size of Defoe with probably superior technique and at worst, similar striking ability.

Let us not forget, Mourinho also did not want one Rafael Van der Vaart.

So you change your opinion on a player after one game

No I think Lewandowski has a fantastic future ahead of him. But he needs time at Dortmund to grow and get better. And while I saw some solid potential, I don't pass myself off as an expert. I have no idea how people will adjust to England. The only one I've ever been 100% about was Adler, and his back issues will probably prove to be too big of a hindrance. I love Subotic too, but think he's falling behind in his progression. That can happen with Lewandowski. It's a very difficult thing. I sometimes fantasize about being a scout, but I'd probably be pretty shit at the job

You realise there's a certain contradiction here, don't you?

And you realise that Benzema can't play with his back to goal and can't hold the ball up? He couldn't at Lyon, and can't at Real. Given that he's a lazy twat whose attitude has pissed off Mourinho no end, I 'd say he's just what we want. Not.

He can run onto one though. We need that just as much as somebody that can hold it.

If RM didn't want to let him go, why did they give him permission to come to WHL and talk a deal

Highly unfeasible.

Benzema's situation hasn't changed - Mourinho has refused to start him in games, leading to more friction from Valdano. Madrid have been strongly pursuing a forward this month, leading to them taking liberties with Hamburg over RVN. Madrid's difficulty is that they don't have the money to buy a forward, hence them scrabbling around for a free(RVN) or loan(Adebayor).

If Benzema leaves it will only be as a loan, with a view to a permanent deal in the summer. His wages must be at least 100k a week, easily outside the scope of Spurs. We were nowhere near the 90k offered Joe Cole, a free transfer, we're unlikely to be pursuing a player who demands more than that and will need at least £22m to buy him.

Benzema is another Anelka, moody and plays when it suits him,not my ideal type of striker.
No,he is nothing like Berbatov. He could back his moods with sheer genius that Benzema does' not possess.

Why was forlan out of reach again?

On the flip side, were obviously scurrying around something, but benzema? If it is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, then it would be the biggest coup possible in January.

Here's to hoping adie! COYS

As unfeasible as signing VDV for 8m within our wage structure ?

Just offer a swap for Mourinho's apparent favourite player, Jenas. Simples.
