For the cryptic this is my guess:

Rin = former Japanese monetary unit
Player = Daichi Kamada
(Two i’s were kept yesterday to reference the two i’s in Daichi)

Japanese attacking midfielder who looked brilliant when I caught him last season in Frankfurt’s Europa run. Could also explain us cooling (at least in the press) on Eriksen and we know that we have had a heavy scouting presence at Frankfurt’s games. He’s also out of contract at the end of next season, which ties with our mantra for a lot of signings. Gotze was announced yesterday as a possible replacement. Not been in the press much which could explain it being a cryptic.

Raphinha is such a skillful player. One of the most talented and hard working attackers in the league (imo).

To get him in AND piss of the gooners would be amazing.

To put this into context. We have interest. But no talks really taken place (as far as I am aware). Would be a tentative thought S we always like him. But he only plays one main position as a winger, and we don’t post thst system.

I know we been passive talks with Richarlison’s agent mainly, but nothing has moved since. Mainly due to the price, and his holiday’s. Though I’m sure he d see outs cut that short now.

If (big if) we sold both Stevie and Moura, I could see it.

Back to Raphina, from what I hear, Barca not in a position right now, and us in UCL, and Conté, his favourite destination would be here.

There is a lot as I mentioned before, 5 forward targets we are in very advanced talks with. Anyone of those as of now I soulful be happy with.

NEW ADDITION: I just got this from a trusted. We are now are now talking to Raphina’s people. Let’s see.

If we're being honest, that fee is piss poor. He's 24, hasn't actually been bad for us at all, and tore it up in their league aged 21 already. Much better player than Lucas and I'm not sure a player like Raphinha is actually anywhere near a big enough upgrade to be worth £40/45m more.

So we've not been in negotiations with Raphinha, but we are advanced with 5 forwards.

So Raphinha isn't one of them?

I tend to agree, but Bergwijn himself wants to leave. Under other circumstances we’d be mad to accept that price for a player of his quality, but I think this is just a case of moving a want-away player on and replacing him.

It’s a shame that it didn’t work out here, but this is how big clubs operate. Get everyone pulling in the same direction even if it’s not the optimal choice from a financial perspective.

I posted it was him at 8 this morning because of a couple of minor thoughts - the i’s etc. I called them tenacious. It was deleted. Either I was close or completely off beam and it appeared a guess, which to be honest it was a bit ?

I definitely agree but seems like there is a degree of pressure on us to 'know our budget' before a few weeks time when Conte will want 80% of his signings in for.

Regarding the cryptic, as much as i want to complain, all these guesses are entertaining as hell and i realize that the odds that i will ever solve a cryptic is next to nil. The best i had was one regarding the pan flute i believe and the only thing i could come up with Zamfir which may have meant one of the Napoli players with a name starting with Z. but i'd guess that 95% of those in here wouldn't have a clue who he was. thanks to the ITKs and Mods for making this transatlantic flight a flood of continuous distraction.

WLB in the Transfer Ticker speaking of Raphinha mentions the other four forwards, which leads me to believe he is.

To further add to the evidence, I opened youtube and searched this guys name, the video that came up was by "Brazil Scout" and it just so happens the person who came up with the theory is called SambaSpurs and has a Brazilian in his display picture. This cryptic runs deep.
