the amount of times it's been mentioned GF it still goes over the heads of those that don't want to listen

Don’t think it does go over people’s head. Can’t sell the deadwood? Perhaps the valuations are too high? Or maybe they are on a great little package, one that was put in front of them in desperation to get the player through the door as earlier dicking around proved unsuccessful and they don’t want to leave - who knows?

I'm still a fan of the old days when you could transfer players all year except for a month before the end of the season.
Me too!
I’m also still a fan of finding out about new signings via Ceefax & being oblivious to all this pre signing negotiation shit & rumors! I can’t help but love it though!

Popped in for a look and can’t belive the whiney comments. The sense of entitlement is ridiculous. I am sure the club is working hard on recruitment and sales. We have retained key players and have a new stadium.

Reading some of these comments would make you think we are Aston Villa.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter if we're all whiners or happy clappers, what matters is that Poch is berry, berry happy. And according to Herc he is not, so I don't think it's reasonable for people to be concerned. Levy may still come up trumps and all will be well but that is starting to look increasingly unlikely

Ps Its not about the money its squad numbers and thats the last time I state that.

We all know - it’s still frustrating that the club has had three months to shift numbers without doing so. We have less than 20 days left, so the bluster and excuses are pointless.

Somebody has to be at fault for the bloated squad, and I’m 95% certain it isn’t me.

Just looked through all today's ITK a second time, and all I know is that I have absolutely no idea what's going on

Unless we can sell some of the shit we (Levy) should never of bought incomings will be limited is what I've deduced from today.

People are listening, but it’s mainly the result of our poor transfer business that’s caused it.

unless you expect us to pay way over the odds for any player we believe to be 1 figure that then goes up by near on 20m, I think that's good business not buying because it would effect our budget. lets see what happens by the end, because it's no ones fault the goalpost got moved and stopped 2 possible signings before pre-season, and it's the agents of the players we want rid for not getting us offers for the outs even if the figures where lower at least we would of been in a position to consider.

to be honest I expected Toby and Dembele to be gone by now, those 2 deals would of been a real help and made space to accommodate new signings without being out of pocket paying extra wages.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Thing is that in a sense it has to be about money because presumably what we are asking for on outgoing players is not what potential clubs are willing to pay, except of course in the case of players that are either refusing to leave or are not interested in the clubs that are showing interest.

Now I’m just desperate to know what makes you 5% certain it is your fault.

For the love of God, Levy 'backing the manager' has rarely resulted in good transfer moves. From Darren Bent to David Bentley to Moussa Sissoko or Roberto Soldado or Vincent Janssen we've been stung year after year.

The players who've actually performed for us are the ones who've come up through the ranks or come in as low-profile deals. Look at what works and keep doing that.

Would be interesting to know how many players Levy has bought for his player trading games that the manager didn't particulary want. The two young French wingers spring to mind as candidates.
I think Levy is an excellent general businessman but his transfer policy and his seemingly stubborn determination to win all deals may have held the playing side back over his tenure.

More concerning is that you think there’s 5% chance it could be your fault!! :ROFLMAO:

I don’t care about fee’s...I see ‘backing the manager’ as in going for the player regardless of price. The low profile deals such as Dele, Dier, Bale etc would still have been ‘backing the manager’ as would the players you mentioned.

come on Flash you've been here enough windows and seen this plenty of times.

I would expect Poch to be unhappy, I doubt Levy is doing cartwheels that nothing is going right. they both know why we failed to get de Ligt and Martial, and they both most probably knew our plan B's where in the WC. They also both know Grealish is a good prospect, but not at 40m

doesn't sound like the players agents have tried either, though the buying club most probably thought "Levy" and no point trying to low ball him

whenever you sell something/anything you put that price on the player, and then hope if you do get an offer it's not mega below.

would you sell your house for 50k less if it effected you buying a new one?

so if Poch asked for 4 players, but because 3 of them took up the budget we had in place, then surely that's still not backing the manager because we haven't the ??m left to spend on all his targets, and whose to say the 1 he wanted most wasn't the one we couldn't afford.

Has he said that poch isn't happy? I would assume thats the case with how DL has handled the window so far but i can't seem to find the post.
