At the end of the day poch turned dier into a solid dm

Why doesn't everybody agree that he could easily see the likes of Chadli and son playing up top?

Son plays false 9... Chadli might be able to play like Kane. I am not saying they can't but I prefer a specialist poacher and add some depth in striker dept.

I can't deny that I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't do any business yesterday because I'm concerned about Harry's workload (reasons that have already been done to death). Having said that I'm still obviously very interested to see what Poch can achieve with the players we've got so I don't actually think there's any reason to panic. I still think there's a pretty decent chance of achieving something great this season.

Pato for Chelsea, Doumbia at Newcastle, Naismith at Norwich, Charlie Austin at Southampton, Benik Afobe at B'mouth, Jordan Rhodes was available too.

Arsenal can play Sanchez, Walcott or Welbeck through the middle.

Leicester have Ulloa and Okazaki.

Utd have Martial

We have Son, Chadli and Lamela, all who have weighed in with good goal returns.
Lamela has more (6) than Martial, Sanchez (5), Okazaki (4) and Walcott (3). Ulloa has 1, even Alderweireld has more than him. Welbeck hasn't played, let alone scored, and the others are new starters.

your point really doesn't hold any water.

With having such a fluid forward line and 7-8 players who can step in to cover the forward 4 positions, we are in good hands.

Having Son, Chadli or even Alli or Lamela playing up top for part of a game is not a bad thing to have.

For the first time in years we have a settled squad. And we still aren't happy!!

It's clear Poch knows what he's doing.

This is so unacceptable, the only signing we have made is Shilow Tracey who can't even get on the bench for a non-league team. Shambles. We need to get some new scouts in this is beyond a joke now.

This has the potential to be a fairly binary outcome:

- Kane stays fit and on form, and we get some of these players in the summer for a lower fee, and Levy's gamble will have massively paid off
- Kane doesn't and we potentially ruin a fairly rare opportunity at a crack at the top

Fine margins eh?

Yep that's the crux of it that the club has gotten itself into.

Not a bad window - offloaded one unwanted player permanently, got another off the wage books until the summer. Lost a young player who Poch didn't rate, loaned one out that Poch does rate.

As for the striker situation, we are in a bit of a catch 22 situation. Simply get a body in, and we are in danger of wasting money and having someone who will be difficult to shift (and we've been there before!), or we get someone who is good but frustrate them because Kane is and will be first choice, so they will be sat on the bench. And potentially spend tens of millions in doing that.

We have enough "options" to back up Kane, and maybe a Harrison will push on in the next couple of years and we will be glad that his route to the first team was not blocked by some jobbers who are both not good enough to play ahead of Kane but too good to not play in front of a kid.

In the end, the direction the club is currently going is excellent and while I had hoped we would get someone in, I'm glad we did not get another striker simply for the sake of it. Unlike most teams, our decision making seems to be more long term than short term, and that is how we will get ahead in the end.

Look at Utd, they have splashed money all over the place but look disjointed, lopsided, and certainly playing less than the sum of their parts.

The way I see this is in the past we have always been involved in the Deadline day rush

The fact we have not been this time or last window shows that we have our cards in order and are happy with the options.

Normally the teams that buy right at the end of the window or in January are panic buying because they are worried about relegation or because they have left themselves short in areas,

we have plenty of options up the top end of the pitch, looking for a like for like replacement for Kane is possible not needed. no top striker would come and sit on the bench and if they would are they really what we want.

if the worst happened and Kane got injured I sure there are plans to help us to continue to score, false nine, Chadli and Son interchanging, we have about a front 8 of attacking talent that could be put to use in different ways to still find goals. No need to panic

This window like the last has been an excellent job in making sure we as a club are leaner and meaner! We have no baggage to take forward so allowing us to promote young talent, something that has long been a dream of many of SC fraternity. Plus we can now focus on adding targeted players who are able to improve us, no more panic buys

The January transfer window came and went so fast that it feels just like yesterday the window opened - at least to me. I somehow thinks that MD2 is in the bag and will come to us in the summer. I also feel that one of Berahino or Batshuayi will come to us this summer. Im quite optimistic about it (Just my gut feelings). For now, i am relishing the journey that is ahead of the First Team. COYS!!!

I'm pretty sure Poch rates Pritchard. He was given a new long-term contract last summer. He's just been injured for 8 months and needs to spend the next 3 finding some fitness again

We actually cleared out even more bodies than that. Remember as well as Veljkovic, Coulthirst and McEvoy left on permanents too. That's more than half of what we needed to do with 'academy players who've gotten too old' this year. Probably only Ward and Ball now need rehoming in the summer.

Excluding the loanees (as they are not eligible to be picked), there is not one player in this list that I have an issue about playing for Tottenham Hotspur: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/first-team-profiles/.

Agree. Yedlin and Fazio won't be coming back.

Of the rest, Carroll is about the only one I don't see being here next season and beyond. And Carroll's ok, it's just Dier, Mason, Bentaleb and Dembele are all quite a bit better than him, and Winks is a lot younger and has more potential.
