If that’s it so be it. I think getting things done early has made it feel like things have fizzled out. We’ve got in a few level raisers, some elite prospects and some improved depth. It’s one of the best windows we’ve had for a long time regardless of these last couple of days.
Amazing window in comparison, but its like making the nicest cake ever whilst forgetting to put the icing on top to fully complete it

At least we (hopefully) aren’t covering the nice cake in shit by buying the final boss of deadwood Traore.

Really dissapointing that we're not getting in another CB. There's no real backup for Dier, Romero has injury problems and will get suspended a few times as well and Lenglet is seemingly not up to speed yet. But we're back to the ususal hubris of keeping our non-existent powder dry and top players being available on the cheap in a future month of sundays...

I’d rather we got the right players in than just players in for the sake of it. One of the best windows I can remember.

Oh lord give me strength..... we are unbeaten so far, haven't even started playing yet, one of our main strikers hasn't got his groove going as yet, but is quality and will show that ... perisic and Richie are our only new signings to have really got going so far.... bissouma will be integrated.. we have 3 covering CBs of which tanganga is the weakest but would be a starter for a lot of PL teams, skipp not featured yet, Spence is gonna be something, gil and sarr gonna get some minutes here and there........ and yet there's rumblings of disappointment.... talk about falling into a bag of tits and coming out sucking your thumb guys!! It's been a brilliant window and if there's nothing left so be it... cannot fault spurs this summer it's been epic.. get a grip!!
Absolutely this for me!!!

We have addressed five key weaknesses in the squad already this summer. This has been one of the best run transfer windows we’ve had in years. Would I like one more flashy signing to help us kick on? Sure, why not. But I’m not going to ignore the fantastic work we’ve already done.

Said it before, but honestly think if we're done our business in reverse and brought in Perisic and Bissouma towards the end of the window, plenty of people would currently be a lot happier now despite it actually being worse due to lack of bedding-in time. Too many fans have short memories and are forgetting the quality of the business we've already done because clubs like West Ham and United are making a few late buys.

I would be disappointed if there were obvious targets that we were missing out on, but we very clearly tried hard and were willing to pay big for CBs that actually made sense for our squad (Bremer, Bastoni, Gvardoil) and they simply weren't do-able for understandable reasons. Equally, I don't think it makes sense to moan about not signing players like Maddison, Paqueta etc for big money when they are clearly not players Conte is huge on.

Definitely not a perfect window, but a very solid, sensible window that leaves us flexible going forward rather than bringing in more bodies for the sake of it that will clog up the squad and the wage bill down the line. The key thing is that Conte isn't complaining - if he felt the club were selling him short in certain positions and weren't doing good business I think we'd all know about it.

Decent early business but going to fall short of being a top transfer window, especially considering our CL pull, if this comes to fruition.
This is what some don't understand
It's been a very good window yes, but never will our stock be higher regards what you mention.
We are so close to being a real title contender, we always seem to be just short in certain positions.
We haven't spent what we apparently have, it would be criminal to not really go for it.
Who knows what will happen next season regards Conte or even Harry.
I want us to win things now, we will never have a better opportunity, top coach , really good team,
If Conte is content ofc with what we've got, then fair enough let's crack on with this group, but I would be very surprised if Conte didn't have his eyes on a couple more incomings that are gettable.
This is not Levy bashing post, I totally love the way he has guided us through all the shit the last few seasons....but come on Daniel, go for it just abit more, we are so close.

If that's the end to the business, I fail to see how anyone can be disappointed with the deals we've made/this window in general. Just smacks of computer game mentality.

A player being quoted 60 right now would be quoted 100 in January due to WC effects - clubs struggling, player may perform very well. This talk about laying off till January doesnt make sense.

Think you're missing the point here.

Yes players are more expensive in January, but we have no idea what areas of the pitch we may be struggling or need reinforcement in at that point. (We could lose PEH & Skipp to injury in December for all we know)

I don't see it as laying off, more keeping the money for later down the line if we need it. It doesn't look like we can get anyone of quality right now so why waste it.

One WF short in my opinion. If we get a single injury to any of our front 4, the drop down in quality from the bench is enormous. 2 injuries would mean a complete formation change or it would mean either Gil or Lucas starting every game.

Perisic could cover if needed.

I'd rather we kept Gil if James is the best we can do. I think there is room for him to improve on the right side and he will get plenty of game time. Centre back is more of the concern for me. Our backup 3 being Tanganga, Sanchez and an untested Lenglet is a concern, particularly for a team that likes to play out from the back. Tanganga and Sanchez have obvious weaknesses in that department.

Honestly can't help but feel that Zaniolo has and still is Conte's number 1 target for RWF and until he signs a new deal we will not be spending anything significant on that position because we are hoping to get him at some point. Truth is his value will come down by Jan if he doesn't sign a new deal, but it is a big if IMO. Because of that Im sure all the attacking additions we are looking at are cheap gap filler options, loan's with options mostly id bet. Really, considering the market closes in two days, what club is going to sell a quality asset so late as they will have no time to replace them. Paqueta will be the last bigger name to move because Lyon knew he wanted to go all summer. I am disappointed we won't bring in another quality right sided attacking addition as i think, with this season especially, it could have made a big difference. IMO we should have moved on from Zaniolo a lot earlier. But i do also think its better to save money then bring in a stop gap option that we may need to loan out next summer on not too favourable terms. Moving forward its going to be imperative we start playing Gil (a player we actually own) and giving him the time he needs to develop because there will be times we need him this season.

Do feel a little bit for Japhet, he isn’t the level we need but he needs game time.

If buying that extra player that wins us a trophy then I'm guilty.
I've been a fan since the 70s
I've seen success and enjoyed it
Unfortunately the new bread of spurs fan has accepted two league cups in twenty years judging by some of the comments
We should never accept no trophies in 13 years..
You can throw comments about computer games all you like
Doesn't make it correct.
I go to spurs and follow them no matter what, but I really feel this could be our time,I just don't want another false dawn.
