Can't you get it into your head, that there is so much more to signing players than their technical quality. Redknapp wants some experience, and to keep and English spine to the team because every single successful Championship winning side in this country has had it. Something Wenger can't, or won't admit to himself.

I bet Fabio Cappello wishes he didn't have to have an English spine to his side.

Wait a minute, isn't that exactly what we have all been slating Citeh for doing:shrug:

Seriously? And there was me thinking that our first team squad and youth teams were full to the brim with young, exciting players.
Maybe you missed it, but there is a very good reason for this: Daniel Levy has made it a central pivot of his whole strategy.

:duh:

Stupidest post of the decade, for me:roll:

I have asked him, I made a lengthy post, and asked him to give me a reasoned response...he couldn't do it. I am beginnning to really believe everyone else who slagged him for a long time before I even said anything negative about any of his posts...he really does know very little about football.

Okay, leaving aside the rest of yesterday's post (and begging forgiveness, MODS), but can someone tell me exactly why there is such a fixation on speed when we do not have a problem scoring when the game is stretched? Why is it that when the opposition sit deep and soak up pressure, when the strikers don't need 'pace' because they are already in/around the bloody area, don't they think we need a striker who can actually put the ball in the net on a regular basis...someone like Klaas Jan (Dan Ashcroft irrationally thinks he's crap:duh:) Huntelaar?

Please, I am literally begging you...explain it to me. Explain to me why THFC, who not so long ago were having to make do with Gary Bloody Docherty can now turn their noses up on a striker of the quality of Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

And, Dan, especially, could you try to clarify this for me: Acknowledging that the critique of Huntelaar benig made is very similar to that made about Sheringham while at Milwall, and for much of the time he was at Forest (except that you are making it about KJH while at Real and AC Milan...do you recognise the difference), could you confirm that you believe Teddy Sheringham to have been the worst player ever to play in the EPL?

There's a huge difference between Sheringham and Huntelaar - they play completely different roles.

Sheringham was a #10 who dropped deep and linked up midfield. He was very skillful and had superb vision. He was also great at holding up the ball, with both his feet and aerially.

Huntelaar is an out-an-out striker - someone who is supposed to lead the line and stretch defences. The only thing he is good at though is being in the right place at the right time in the penalty box and finishing chances. He doesn't contribute anything else to the team at all - no hold up or link up play.

I wish this Richards link would go away too, he was exposed by Bale as to what a terrible defender he is, and we have Kyle Walker coming through. Would be an absolute awful buy - especially at the £10m being quoted.

Don't want Parker, don't want Cole, don't want KJH, don't want Richards, missed out on Remy :-x

I'm not going to agree or disagree with you here about wanting Richard or not Brett, but Dawson, Bassong, BAE were all exposed by Young Boys this week.

They are all shocking defenders too, no?

Why does anyone object to KJH on the grounds that he is a goal poacher?

I really want a "fox in the box" it's what we are missing, we make plenty of chances and need a clinical striker. And before anyone mentions Bent, I wrote clinical, not carthorse.

The thing is, Richards is exposed week in-week out, the above 3 are usually very solid. My point was that for those that don't watch Richards regularly, well what Bale did to him is a common occurrence, people just can't seem to look beyond the fact that he's strong and quick.

We need 2 strikers, we need a top class poacher and a top class hold up player, I was always of the belief that we only needed a hold up striker (Dzeko, which doesn't look likely) but we need both, who makes way for these players is anyone's guess.

On POTL's ITK, Gallas is a very good signing, to be fair I don't care about the past, Redknapp will spot straight away if he's being a cock, if he sorts that, he is a top class defender, always thought he was very good. Remy's gone, Huntelaar's a good shout, Young is interested in us, I know this for a fact, but I can't see the transfer happening, same with Parker. The last statement is definitely 100% on the spot, we have to progress to be in with a shout of players who will raise us up a level.

Its a strange situation because Young Boys showed that we need a player who can lead the line on his own to enable us to play a formation such that we don't dicked on away in Europe, something which Harry had identified, then went back on, presumably as we don't have the personnel for it yet.

But in the league Man City showed that we can't rely on any of our strikers to gobble up chances presented to them, unless they're bang in form and we could do with that guy who will stick it away and has more than one way of finishing. Especially with our primary poacher now injured for god knows how long.

There probably isn't anyone who could hit both of those targets as we would like that we can afford to get.

One might suspect that god forbid we crash out on Wed, it would solve the problem of having to buy that lone striker anyway...

I think it is because most people believe, including me, that we need a strong fast striker who can play up front on his own, above anything else.

Presently we are stuck with playing 442, something witch HR said last season he did not want. To have any chance of doing well in europe this season we need the option of playing 4231 or 451.

Bale only really got the better of him once or twice, a lot less than most right backs. Due to his pace and strength, Bale couldnt get round him and was a little stifled in the 2nd half...

I hope we get KJH, think he is exactly what we need. Get on the end of Bales deliveries, feed off Hudd/Modge through balls...

One or twice

Try 6 or 7 times in the space of 20 minutes.
