I don't believe even Kane or Ange know what's going on. Levy and a couple of board members I reckon.

Kanes reps will have been told what’s happening surely? I know Charlie is a dipstick but it seems Harry has others now advising him etc? That tweet was put out by someone other than Harry or Charlie. No way Kane isn’t getting updates on every move that’s happening. I wanted him gone on Friday evening after all the itk. But he put the shirt on today and showed what he’s about. Hope he stays. 🤞. Bayern are fools not to push the boat out for him. He makes it all look so easy.

There's been a tonne of ITK, alot came last sunday, I especially remember Herc saying "Bye Bye" late sunday before the infamous monday meeting. Then different ITK came out monday morning etc etc.

I love our ITK's so not trying to shit on anyone at all, but the constant change in 70/30's 50/50's etc is just the information they are given and sharing at the time, so when you look at it like that, it must be a really fucking confusing situation in general when the people IN THE KNOW are getting different and conflicting information every day for the last week.
Could it not be that at various stages of the deal the proportion of it that’s ‘done’ could vary depending on what we’re talking about? For example:

Kane and personal terms - presumably 100% done now

The transfer fee - sounds like in principle we’re 90% there or at least have an offer we can all be happy with

Us sorting replacements in the market - 50%, who knows on this point to be honest.

What I’m getting at is that the deal has multiple parts, hence why sorting the fee for example at one point may have been 50/50 or however you want to look at it. Until ITK knows that something has moved forwards, it remains a bit in limbo.

We've certainly been in contact with Genk & Orban. How advanced we are and if it depends on Kane leaving I really don't know. But I struggle to see us bringing him in without Harry leaving. I imagine as others have stated, we are trying to line up a few deals and if we are successful, we then may accept the bid.
Like I say mate, I honestly don't know if Harry staying or leaving has any bearing on Orban joining us. I just know he's highly rated by the club and we were certainly pushing for him the last I heard.

Ok so based on that it sounds like if the Kane money is acceptable and if we can get good deals on the other side we will take. If neither we will keep Kane this season. If so that is probably a sensible and pragmatic view.

From Prof on COYS about 15 minutes before the bid being rejected hitting the news. The shorter contract is what I reckon will happen and suggested it a few weeks ago as the best move for everyone.

A mixture of info from Gawain and a new source.

We have put two contract options in front of Harry and his reps.
A long term incentive laden contract to remove the uncertainty for us and for him. Barring significant injury he’d break Shearer’s record and pretty much retire as a Spurs player.
A mid-range contract with buyout clause that would put us in a similar position next summer as we are this summer. This option would give us at least another year of Harry, and give him time to decide whether he’s buying in to our future under Ange, as well as setting a minimum sale price.

No idea if he’ll negotiate a bit and then sign one of them, sign neither and leave on a free next summer, or be sold before this window closes. DL wants a decision asap so Spurs know how much they’ll have to spend and which positions they’ll need to focus on for the remainder of the window.

This week provides much for both HK and DL to ponder.

That info from Prof sounds really sensible from the club.

Get this sorted so we can move on and build our team.

I hate levy (professionally wise, not as a human) but I think he really has hired a gem in Ange so giving the new gaffer clarity and a chance to organise and build for the season is imperative.

A season extension would be great. He gets to see how the team progresses and we don't lose him for a free in the summer.

What does Kane have to gain from signing one of those options? Wages? He’d get more from a signing on fee following a Bosman next summer.

Tidbits from the Kane thread;

Ignore the press it’s still ongoing levy is squeezing everything out of this lemon 🍋 still no full agreement. Spurs are actively lining up replacements as I said the other day.

Don’t get sucked into that yet it’s at a critical stage atm

Has to protect the club mate . Kane won’t commit

Talks are ongoing they’re working their way up to an agreement.

Unless, I don’t know, that’s already factored into the contract.

of course Kane won't commit. We finished 8th. And still haven't signed a CB with less than a week to go till the opener. Is there any wonder? Levy's still Levy.

Now, Laporte in quickly, too, might encourage Kane to at least think about that mid-range contract Prof alluded to...

Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

He also gets the assurance that if he gets injured next season he is still under contract. It probably doesn’t even need to be a serious injury, just a 2-3 months out injury that he gets towards the end of the season would severely limit his options in the summer IMO.
