Losing a goal machine and talisman is a tough start for a new manager. Postecoglu will find himself under pressure and hopefully fans and chairman have some fortitude to stick it out.

It's not surprising he wants to leave, but I'll still be surprised if he agrees to move overseas. I can't see the club messing around too long on a fee with bayern if he's willing to go there. About the best of the bad outcomes Levy could've hoped for.
I would say the opposite, losing Kane will make people have less pressure on Ange. I would be one of those

I think Vlahovic would bang a lot of goals with service from the likes of Maddison, Kulusevski, Porro and Udogie. Juventus have a real lack of creativity right now. The guy is a lethal finisher, his left foot is as sweet as can be. Also has decent pace and is 6’3” so won’t be bullied by anyone. I think with the style we’re gonna play and the players we have to provide for him he’s the ideal Kane replacement

Oh no, fuck that. Get into the Kane thread and say who you want if you must. The next manager thread/poll was more trouble than it was worth. A number of names get listed, after a while someone wants someone else added and it all ends up being worthless.

As names get linked they’ll get a thread anyway.

We could do with a thread my hairy arse.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Prof on COYS re Kane:

"Despite playing on the tour, respecting Ange, appreciating our fans, working hard in training, etc, following a candid conversation with DL the expectation within the Kane camp is that he will not be a Spurs player by the time the window closes."
Gutted. 😞😞😞😞😞

Thanks for the ITK, while it's not the news we want to hear it's good that we hear it rather than just being fed false hope.

If he goes overseas there will be no negativity towards Kane from me (confusion over not looking to get the goal record but not the anger he'd get if he went to Utd / Chelsea).

He's given us many years of high level performance and also bags us some £££'s at the end that we can put towards a replacement. It's a far better way to walk away in a positive light with your head held high rather than going down the 'he shall not be named' route of lies around signing a new deal before moving to rivals for free...

Now crossing my fingers for the ultimate schadenfreude with PSG using some of the Mbappe money to gazump Bayern

Assuming that we’re tying up the Mbappe deal before selling Harry. Don’t want PSG upping the price. Well played Daniel.

When it comes to CF's and CB's I don't want versatility, I want specialists.
The two don't have to be mutually exclusive. A player who has the skillset to play a number of positions doesn't automatically make him less good in his prime position, or a detriment, if anything it's the opposite. Vlahovich, who is exclusively a specialist striker, hasn't exactly been pulling up trees in Serie A, but you'd rather him?

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Who would've dared to dream that one day we would have seen an Mbappe link in the transfer thread - I'm buzzing my tits off.

Agree, think Vlahovic is built for the Premier league. Juventus were a dysfunctional mess this season, hard to judge any of their players this year. He would be great competition to Richie, offer different skill set.
Not the most elegant looking player, but neither is Haaland. At 23, Ange would have plenty of potential to work with.
Fact he speaks excellent English is a also a bit plus, definitely helps players settle quicker.

Before anyone moans about why this was locked it was because the Kane thread is proceeding at pace, there is little point having it all in two threads at once.

After you've banged on enough in the Kane thread and starched your panties stiff with repeats and threepeats of the onions you've already posted over the past few days, we'll be back.

cabinessence: Bit of Rock Solid. Was going to be one of the two CHs we've been linked with and a cheaper one as well. Now waiting for Harry to go and maybe buy both CHs and a younger reserve striker. Like it or not, Rich appears to be our new No. 9.

Hearing they haven't increased their bid, and they will have to if they want this done. Looks like they are so used to just bullying teams into submission which for all his faults won't happen with DL. They know what they need to do now put up or shut up.

Thought he was 100% gone last night, now I'm 50/50.

Right Brain won't function today but here are some points I've been told on this
  1. Kane and the FAM/Firm asked the club "Daniel" to sit down with Bayern
  2. Daniel Obliged after discussion as it would be in Tottenham's best interest right now as he won't sign a new deal unless significant progress is made during the season if he stays. He also wants the club to get what's deserved from his departure which softens the blow next summer if contract talks don't resume.
  3. 3 meetings have taken place
  4. Daniel has finally decided with the board what he sees' best for all parties regarding the FEE ££££ (upfront payment and Add On)
  5. Bayern Gulped and asked for time to consider if they can provide this package.
  6. They initially thought that a conclusion would be reached yesterday at lunch in London but the 2 parties were way apart.
  7. Daniel has given them until Friday. otherwise, the price will go up and without a suitable plan which the club is trying to activate if this happens, he will pull any deal with the season approaching and it is getting between preparation and further recruitment for Ange.
  8. Ange doesn't want Harry if he doesn't want Tottenham but this right now sits in between going or staying with Harry.
  9. Lastly If this was a relationship status on Facebook "It is Complicated"

I would have posted this on the ITK thread but it's locked have a few updates on arrivals and departures but until that's open I am not in the mood to go into player threads.

Cheers WLB.
Well if there was any doubt it's clear now that what we've heard snatches of is fact.
Interesting point 7 which seems to suggest the Kane activity is having an effect on other things.
Also nice to see Ange's thoughts on it too. All in all seems like this is the week.
