No this is the ITK discussion thread so just discussing the ITK
Not having a go at you personally but it's now turned into the 'slag Levy off yet again' thread, which is a tad annoying for those of us who like to avail themselves of all the facts before burning people at the stake.

With the current state of football ownership and spending we will never win anything with these owners. We have to accept that.

I’m just hoping that when I turn up every week that I will at least see some entertaining football that makes me want to get behind the team and the manager.

But I’ll join every Levy/ ENIC out chant going because their business model doesn’t lead to a successful football team in today’s world.

The recent ITK is another of many many examples of what we have seen consistently from ENIC and Levy. Don’t expect any different!

In no walk of life does it work to agree a deal, advance on that basis and then try to change it last minute.

In my world (finance), if you do this in a financing or acquisition, you will quickly get a reputation in the market of not being trustworthy. If you’re the only potential buyer or financier, the other party will still talk to you. But when there are multiple options on the table, people that have developed positive relationships will be prioritized.

It’s very basic stuff, and I’m surprised Levy thinks it works. I think he very much fancies himself as supreme deal maker type, which all recent evidence on the football front contradicts.
Not wishing to contradict, but just over a week ago we got a call from our client who said “we’ve got a call at 7pm with the buyer, there’s going to be a chip”.

We got instructed end of May to sell this building. 100s of millions of pounds. We’d all been working on the basis that “the price is is the price” from Day 1. That call was THE DAY we were supposed to exchange - we were in the final stages of issuing the final form contract and all of the annexures to it.

It absolutely DOES happen and it usually happens when you’re so close that neither side are really actually going to pull out. In fact it’s an entirely common story at the moment. And it does work.

All buyers are getting squeezed on interest rates - term sheets are getting ripped up. I can’t imagine it’s any difference for Spurs or any club using debt.

Whilst I can’t attest to this particular situation in the football industry, to suggest this sort of thing doesn’t happen/work at the top end where people are dealing with 100s of millions of pounds worth of assets isn’t right from my experience.

Oh I agree it definitely happens. You cannot push your luck too many times though, otherwise you get a reputation.

Odd to respond to my post though given I didn't slag off Levy or anything. I just gave my opinion on why Trix might be suggesting we're going back on the VdV deal. That's kind of the point of the thread, an ITK posts what they've heard and we discuss it.

Yeah, happy to apologise for using your post to respond to, after reading page upon page of Fuck Levy i'd finally had enough. As mentioned, wasn't actually aimed at you , my mistake. (i'll shut up now, and just give the thread a miss for a while !).

But… we’ve had ITK previously that we can’t sign good strikers as they’ll know they’re backup up Kane.

Surely by selling Kane we’ll be offering a starting place in a team that has proven its forward line can score goals for a manager who prioritises attacking play… (p.s. I still don’t think H will be leaving unless Bayern stump up serious cash)
Yes I suppose we should give osimhen a call back and let him know we have a vacancy at CF now.
I wonder what his answer will be…..

Bring in a new chief of football, new sporting director, new manager, new scouts. It doesn’t make a difference. Nothing will change when one man is making the decision in giving the green light to finalising a deal.
That’s a full house now!

That's absolutely perfect sense. We've far too many players on our books and Ange has to have time to asses the "suspect" players to see of they can be turned round or need to be sold or loaned out. Only then will the club know (a) what their needs are and (b) how much money that have to spend.

Far too many impatient posters on here.
the likes have it :)
You sure about highest ticket prices , friendly pre season Barca v Spurs , from the official Barca site, just look at the prices.
Miami Inter are charging $180 to see Messi play!

Ah, I see the misunderstanding. Judging by the majority of posts in these threads, what they're *actually* for is an ITK posts and people slag off Levy and/or Dier.

It's an easy mistake to make - we've all done it!

So after all the noises of things being different, Levy backs off on that & returns to form yet again. Typical & not surprising in the slightest. Can only hope & pray this time around its because of the takeover discussions. Clubs hardly fatten the bone while in the midst of a takeover.

Entirely untrue. I work with some of the most “interesting” of people. If they have something that someone else wants, be it an asset or money to pay for an asset you would be hugely surprised that any past dealings or any perceived grievances are all “just business” and completely forgotten.

But Two weeks later they are found inside an Anaconda 😂

really surprised that there are still people willing to deal with Levy. in other industries you would probably be blacklisted if you do business like this
You really think we're the only club that does this, or that it hasn't happened to us too? The fucking Saudi's with their unlimited money tried the same thing with Inter Milan when negotiating for Brozovic.

Depressing but unsurprising.

So literally one source has sort of alluded to it, and now it's gospel ffs

Apart from multiple ITK sources over several years?

and this...

"Dealing with Tottenham's Daniel Levy was more painful than my hip replacement" says Sir Alex Ferguson
