Wow! 7mill for Keane is great business by Levy

Another shrewd move by Levy I feel. I reckon if we had sold him in the summer we would have got a pittance, but now there are so many teams near the foot of the table desperate for a proven goalscorer, he has been able to engineer a little auction.

Bring it on in terms of Carroll but just don't see Newcastle selling or Carroll wanting to move to London, I know someone who knows someone who knows Carroll and apparently he is very much a northern guy (bit like Milner when we tried to buy him with Lennon) and wants to stay up north for his career

from same source as the hughton /pardew rumour .wreckons its a cash deal .if you dont want to believe it then dont .im just reporting what ive heard .ashley wants the money not the players offered .spuds said dont play him until deal is done type of thing and put out hes injured to the media .

Just my opinion but i really think we have a chance of getting either Benzema or Torres this window. Real Madrid will get Llorente more than likely and Adebayor will end up at either Liverpool or RM, thus leaving us to go for Benzema or Torres.

I recon these are 2 of the 'big players' Ryan is on about, and nothings happening because all clubs involved are waiting for other players to move first.

Even though we paid between £12-16m for him and he only scored 11 goals in 40 games?

Keane was fantastic for those first 6 years, but we shouldn't have bought him back.

After reading some of those posts. I fully want us to sign Carroll just to make the geordies cry, talking like he is too good for us!

The guy's post seems suspect to me, but maybe I am being cynical and I suppose it depends on whether he really did call the Hughton out thing previously as to the level of which people believe him.

I get the feeling Carroll is the best we can hope to sign this window and would be happy if we could sign him for less than £15m

This bit worries me. He's injured anyway. When did he sustain this thigh strain?

I juat cannot see Newcastle selling their star player to us in January. Not seen enough to comment on his ability to take us to the next level, but I would be underwhelmed if it happened.

Needs must though, we were staring directly at the Championship and needed a striker badly after Defoe's injury. The owed money and Liverpool's willingness to sell meant a deal could be done easily and Keane played his role in keeping us up.

Getting £7m for him now is pretty good business regardless of what we paid for him because at the time we were in need of someone we knew could slot in without a period of transition and Keane did that so it was a worthwhile deal.

I really hope so mate. The impression I got though, was that Harry is concentrating on the team solely. Levy already knows the players that Harry likes, and like it was said by someone else, it wouldnt surprise me if Levy does another VDV. Comes back to Harry and says...."Harry I can get xxxx for £xxx what'dya reckon?" the only problem then is I'm out of the loop!
