I am absolutel
You are right, it's coming from Christian Falk (head of football at Sport Bild):

He has got a contract until 2022 so wouldn't be too expensive.

Does this mean that there will now be a player thread created for him so we can discuss it there?

(Absolutely delighted aggregators aren't allowed in this thread any more, they've been the scourge of this transfer window in regards to stories and info being twisted for retweets).

I wouldn't consider the Daily and Sunday Express as offering anything truly reliable to the thread either.

We could spend all day talking about the merits of this newspaper or that newspaper. But at the end of the day, they are still major news outlets. I think it’s easy to see the difference between made up nonsense and actual news anyway.

@Rob - worth making a list of the aggregators we don't want in here?

@Daily_Hotspur
@HotspurRelated
@thespursweb
@TheSpursExpress

Any more?
@LastWordOnSpurs
I'd say it's rarely "news" and is more opinion pieces based on someone else's news. In that case, we'd prefer the source.
Athletic has opinion pieces but they deffo have reliable journos as well.

That's a good starting point but then we get people saying it's not on the list so @spursrumours69 is fine to post.

I think the rule of thumb is anything that's not a real publication or a real person with a real job linked to football should be avoided.

Head of football at sportbild is a good example as I've never seen that guy before but he's verified on twitter and looks legit so we've allowed it.

I'm slightly torn on whether it's okay to post something Charlie Kane might say ?

The reason I asked about the Athletic specifically is because I see it exactly the same as Rob. The occasional decent opinion piece, but I'm yet to see them post anything transfer wise that is both factual AND original. They generally pick up other's info and put a their own twist on it that is pure fantasy. Either that or it has no foundation whatsoever.

IMO whilst they do lots of big opinion pieces, a few of their journos, Ornstein in particular, break a bunch of news and if it's coming from him you know it's legit. I don't see much reason why you'd ban the Athletic but then allow the Times/Telegraph etc.

The Martinez news for instance was broken by Gary Jacob for the Times who writes about us very rarely but surely that would be valid to put in here as he's a proper journalist with a very credible paper?

The only exception to this I'd say is anything from Ornstein. I think they brought him in as their 'transfer guy' so he may still get the odd scoop or two.

We can get his updates direct from his twitter though. Plus his contacts are Arsenal no?

Indeed my point is when it goes through the athletic it seems obvious to me that it's fantasised in order to generate clicks.

I've got some ITK that A&C is already deeply regretting this decision

Yep! All this discussion of sources is exactly what he warned me off.

It's all obvious and shouldn't really need debating. We'll let you all get it out of your systems today but then going forward, take your lead from what's put in the ticker as to what we think is ok if you're not sure.

Back on topic then

I think Zakaria would be a very shrewd buy for €20m. We're crying out for a proper DM and he was very highly thought of until he got unlucky with an injury.

Would prefer Brozovic but hey ho.

Are we tho? PEH and Skipp are both solid proper DMs I would think tbh.

If anything, we need an 8 who can progress the ball up the pitch and create chances since Ndombele seems to have 1 lung and hasn’t managed to impress 4 managers in a row now. Dele is wasted in a deep area too so that just leaves us with Gio who’s very injury prone.

I’ve heard he hasn’t been the same since returning from his injury.

PEH isn't a proper DM. I think the euros showed how his best position is further forward and signing Zakaria would allow us to utilise him in that way.

It's also Skipp's first full season in the prem, so it would be unfair to rely on him solely.

Yeah that’s fair. I think the plan seems to be playing a 4231 this season too so it would make sense to buy another mid who can play in that double pivot whose name isn’t Moussa Sissoko
