That's our boy!
South Aussie lad who is the classic "late bloomer".

Yeah - disappointing.

Me: "please be english, please be english"

Commentator: "this is incredible, he only stepped off the plane a few days ago"

Me: "please be a saffer, please be a saffer"

Commentator: "amazing by the Aussie quick"

Me: "****"

Gus Atkinson in the ODI squad for NZ series. Stokes back. the squad is expected to be the same as the World Cup squad.

No Brook or Duckett.

On current form I’d have preferred to see Jacks play instead of livingstone.
Roy is such an enigma, think I’d have preferred Duckett in there as well and I suppose Brook has made way for Stokes.
we’ve got so much depth in our batting department it’s ridiculous!

I just can't get on board with Roy, this is his last 10 matches, where's the form there?

This is Livingston, not exactly set the world alight!

Its not what I'd call a progressive team selection, I think the white ball side of things is some way behind the red ball setup. I don't think that Matthew Mott is as forward thinking as BM.

i think they've probably given Brook a bit of a rest tbh. T20i WC, follwed by a tour, followed by the Ashes, they are probably wary of burn out.

echo the sentiment around Roy though.

Not sure about Stokes' inclusion. Mainly for his own benefit. Surely he should be looking at recovering and sorting that knee out so he can return to all rounder status in time for the India tour?

He offers a lot as a batter for the ODI team, I'm sure, however maybe it was time to leave it to the younger generation to start coming through in that format. Brooks being left out is unacceptable IMO.

Also, not sure how Roy makes the squad.

Apparently he had ear marked this gap in tests to have treatment, not sure why the management team think its in his best interests to get him back in the team as a pure batsman when there are others as capable (Brook) as he is, specially when you have the depth of batting we already have.

there is a lot of depth in the ODI squad, but I would suggest any possibility of having a world class player like Stokes available for a World Cup is only a good thing.

I would rather he played the WC and missed a meaningless test series getting the knee fixed.
