I don’t give a shit for your views nor do I care in the slightest that you feel offended by horse racing to be honest so take your virtue signalling nonsense elsewhere and block me. I have no interest in debating this whatsoever. The sport of Kings has existed for hundreds of years and it will continue for a hundred more.
I really don't mind you having a different view from me, that is what a forum is for.

I dont see the necessity for blocking you, but I will point out at no point have I called for a ban on horse racing or said im offended by it.

For clarity. I do however feel the grand national course is cruel and the fact 3 horses died this year and 4 last year on the course is the reason why I feel this way.

I will point out I used to happily bet and enjoy this race and I grew up riding horses. But the number of deaths on the course later changed my thinking.

But i accept that for many the death of horses on the course are not a factor in their thinking and they enjoy the spectacle without the deaths affecting their conscience. You are clearly one of those and although that's a different view from mine, it doesn't make your view wrong and mine right.

I don't expect you to respond, based on your previous post. So will just say COYS as thats something we both do have in common and can agree.on.

Might be worth you starting a thread about horse racing and the merits of gambling on it. This isn't really a debate thread it's a fun competition thread.

Although I was responding to posts that were about the events at the grand national, It's a fair point you raise and you're indeed right, so I shall bow out of this thread as it should return to the fun competition thread it is intended to be.

Apologies to those who came in for the tipsters competition and not posts around the merits of the grand national. (y)

I feel a bit guilty in getting a joint win because of the bonus. But hey, I'll take it!

Thank you @bradfordspur and @Houdini as always for running the comp. I always really enjoy these whatever the result. Definitely enjoyed the racing more than the football.

Ill informed rubbish the 3 horses that sadly died all died jumping different fences or hurdles one of the horses that died was as a direct result of the protesters causing a delay and the horse to get 'buzzed up' - the horses are cared for amazingly and when you have been to a course and seen the emotion that a stable hand feels when a horse is injured or worse then comment or indeed when a horse gets back up after a fall and the crowd's delight

Also remember that Thoroughbred horses are bred to race they would not exist but for intervention of man

Ive had to pop back in as youre quoting me. But if you see the above posts, this isnt the place to debate. So let's not take it back off topic.

Guess what turned up at the local stables where my daughter worked and kept her horse ..
The Grand National Trophy 2023 with the breeder Paul Hillis of Wellingtonbridge. Wexford
Second from left is Murt Doran and his wife Annette is on the end, they were my nearest neighbours (only about 600 yards down the lane I lived in last year)
