Use this as a trial run for the same platters and team v Villa (bar keepers). Assuming Bergwijn and Sessegnon are still out.

Gollini
Emerson Romero Dier Reguilón
Højbjerg Skipp
Lucas Lo Celso Gil
Son

Lloris Tanganga Sanchez Rodon Davies Winks NDombele Markanday Ndombele Dele Scarlett Kane

Gollini
Royal Romero Rodon Sessengon
John Skipp White
Markanday Scarlett Gil

Subs: Austin Doherty Davies Cesay Fagan-Walcott Omole Lyons-Foster Craig Craig Winks Lo Celso Bergwijn Clarke

Leave Sunday’s starting 11 to stew and don’t waste valuable starting minutes on deadwood. Let’s see what the next generation has to offer and hopefully give the fans something to get excited about.

Scarlett has to start. Don't let Kane stat pad in this competition.

Only want Gil if he has intentions of playing him Sunday. Same with Lo Celso and Skipp.

It shouldn't matter who we put out. We'll beat them regardless.

Does anyone really give a shit what team we play on Thursday. Meaningless competition
Yes because whatever we intend the first XI to be going forward the players need to learn how to play together. At the moment I'm not sure they have a clue.

I was all for this competition being all kids and reserves now I've changed my mind

Nuno will start the strongest team he can to try and get an overwhelmingly positive result to try and give us some momentum for Villa. Sadly, I can see us getting exhausted after Thursday's efforts and putting in another tepid performance on Sunday.

I’d go for this, if Sess isn’t fit, maybe stick with Reggy, although he’s been pretty awful and doesn’t deserve to start. Maybe have Davies instead.

We probably need to swap to three at the back from this game on, Nuno is used to it and at this point we may as well revert completely to Nuno ball instead of half heartedly pretending we can play attacking football. Aside from that I’m really struggling to care. Who are Mira anyway. Play Gil and Skipp, they are the only ones Im enjoying watching at the moment not that I’m even sure I can be bothered to tune in.

Not sure about including Skipp, guys.

I think he's so vital to us/our midfield that, at this stage of this competition we'd be crazy to risk losing him through injury & can't select him for PL games.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but I also think we need to start showing some consistency with our lineup, formation, and tactics.

Back four for me. Both full backs can attack on a rotating basis.

Gollini,

Davies, Rodon, Romero, Royal or Tanganga,

Skipp, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso

Markenday, Son

Scarlett

Honestly really don't care who plays as long as they actually give a bit of effort!
I'm not going to the game but I would gladly pay £30 to watch the under 21's if they put the effort in!

Gollini
Doherty Tanganga Sanchez Rodon Davies
Romero Skipp
Emerson Dier Reguillion

subs: Oluwayemi, Omole, Cesay, Muir, Lyons-Foster, Lavinnier, Fagan-Walcott, Paskotsi, Matthew Craig, Kane

if there is too much creativity we could bring Skipp off,

In our current funk I think it's the perfect opportunity for Tanganga, Scarlett, Markanday, John, Gil, Skipp to show they have the hunger to be the future first team core.

Or it could be argued play a senior team to try and get them some cohesiveness.

This isn't necessarily the team I'd put out on Thursday, but it is the team I would trust most if I were Nuno right now:

This is the team I would start with. If we got to around 60 minutes without scoring, perhaps throw Son on or Lucas even.

would like Rodon, Romero, Gil, Skipp and Bergweijn to start.
Otherwise just want 11 players to follow the instructions given to them (whether they like them or not!)

not sure our current "first XI" is better than our youth team...

It's a false choice, but I'm much happier with the top 4 time we had compared to winning the league cup, our last trophy.

I think we're a laughing stock now/recently but weren't under Poch, and in both cases we won nothing. Trophies aren't the determinant of being a useless banter club.
I'd happily give up one of our top 4 slots to have won either the league cup or Europa cup.
