The obvious choice would be

————————-Vicario—————————

Porro——Romero———Davies——-Royal

—————Sarr——————Hjojberg———-

—-Johnson—-Kulusevski——Son———-

————————Richarlison———————-

however the balls out approach that Ange would do is quite exciting, 2 runners in Kulu and Sarr with Lo Celso deeper

———— ————Lo Celso————————-

—————Sarr——————Kulusevski——-

—-Johnson—-Richarlison——Son———-

hojbjerg offers very little defensively. Immobile and retreats to the safety of the cbs toes. Really is a myth he makes us more solid. Similar for Skipp as well imo.

I’d have Lo Celso as the 6 all day. We’re going to need his ability on the ball in that position.

Think Lo Celso, Sarr and Kulu is an exciting midfield three.

Better than PEH, Bissouma and Lo Celso...that started against West Ham.

Vicario - Porro, Romero, Davies, Royal is pretty much guaranteed. Otherwise a lot depends on availability of Lo Celso and Johnson. If both are out wonder wether Gil starts and Deki plays in the midfield or will Ange use Skipp, Höjberg and Sarr midfield. I'd probably go for Skipp, Sarr and Kulu, but Gil is bit weak physically for this one. But can't see Veliz or Donley promoted to XI yet

Edit: So Johnson available, then If GLC is out Skipp, Sarr, Kulu - Son, Richarlison, Johnson

GLC wouldn’t be anywhere near as frustrating if these injuries didn’t crop up in such mundane ways. It’s almost funny, just, y’ know, it actually matters.

I like the idea of Sarr in the 6 position, and Skipp or Lo Celso as the number 8, with Deki as the 10. I think Hojbjerg is a good player but he’s too much of a liability in Ange’s system. He’s caused a few goals against us.

Team for next Saturday at home to Everton - Re-name us Make Do and Mend FC for this Xmas and New Year until the AFCON and the Asia Cup is over and let's hope we can garner as many points as we can with everyone buying into Ange's tactics and workrate, survive the 3rd and 4th rounds of the FA Cup, some decisive moves in the Jan window to bolster our squad and when everyone's back we go full pelt on all cylinders.

Like half our first team, I'm now unavailable for this game.... so I've just posted my seat on Ticketexchange.... Block 124, East Lower, if anyone is interested.

Eh...we've still more than enough to beat Everton

I prefer to swap GLC and Sarr. GLC is technically better and can play through the press, Sarr’s mobility is better utilised as the 8.

I went through the Everton side last night to see how many of their players are on 4 yellow cards and could potentially miss our game (yes I am that sad to do this on so many levels).

Amazingly, only one was at risk! Barely had any as a team. Which surprised me for a Sean Dyche team. We seem to be walking a tightrope with ours and I wouldn’t say we were a dirty team. Yet 4 red cards and countless yellows says different.

Oh and by the way it’s Doucouré so hopefully he gets booked today as he’d be a major miss for them.
Here's hoping he gets booked. His s unit and would worry about him out muscling our midfield.

They have 2 missing today's game though through 5 yellows

I would go:

Vic

Porro - Romero - Davies - Royal

GLC 🙏 Sarr
Kulu

Johnson - Richy - Son
This is the team I want too, but I have this feeling Ange will think that midfield looks a little light without Biss or Bents available to mop up.

Wouldn’t surprise me if GLC gave way for Hojbjerg.

Personally don’t think Hojbjerg mops up much. He’s poor defensively. Lo Celso needs to play if he’s fit, he’s played as the deep midfielder plenty of times in his career and Hobjerg and Sarr playing as deeper midfielders don’t have the quality and ball manipulation to get out consistently
