Vicario
Porro Romero Davies Royal
Hojbjerg Sarr Lo Celso
Deki Richy Son

Depends if Lo Celso and Johnson are back I guess.

Also if Sarr gets his 5th booking in either this game or the game against Brighton (after which the amnesty comes in) we’re going to be in deep trouble in midfield.

I wonder if we throw Dier in as CM if we get to that stage! .....

Not sure I like that CM 3. If Johnston and Lo Celso are out. I wonder if we could go like this

Vicario

Porro Romero Davies Royal

Hojbjerg Sarr
Deki

Richy Veliz Son

We've got 8 days now until Everton so hopefully we can get Gio back. I'm still not hopeful of a result given our defensive absentees with Udogie and Bissouma now missing.

I hope that since Bissouma is going to be unavailable for so long that Ange tries Skipp in his position. Six PL games of Hjolberg slowing everything down is too depressing a prospect.

GLC should be back but usually when he gets a knock he has the recuperation time of the Fisher King, so who knows?

Vicario
Porro Romero Davies Emerson
Sarr Skipp
Johnson Kulusevski Son
Richarlison

Subs: Forster, Dier, Dorrington, Hjolberg, Donley, Soonsup-Bell, Veliz, Bryan, Santiago.

I wonder if we can sign Jedinak to a short-term deal…

But for me, Royal comes in for Udogie, and Hojbjerg comes in for Bissouma.

Bissouma has proper pissed me off, now what do we do at the crucial ‘6’ spot? The thought of Hojberg clogging the middle for 90 mins is too
much to process. But what’s the alternative? Can Sarr play that role for a few games? I like the thought of a Sarr, GLC, Deki midfield. Would Skipp be a better option there, he’d move the ball quicker at least.

Agne, in true style to play Gio or Sarr at 6.

Vicario

Porro
Romero
Davies
Royal

Lo Celso
Sarr
Kulusevski

Johnson
Richarlison
Son

(Although given the change at LB, id probably expect PEH in for Lo Celso)

Deki must stay central.

A midfield of Sarr, Lo Celso and Deki does not offer sufficient defensive cover.

It’s the kind of lineup you might try on FM or FIFA but I suspect Skipp or Hojbjerg will be in the team sheet.

Of course it does, if you tell the players (in that case Lo Celso, because he replaces Bissouma) what their tasks are. Gio has the ability to play a more defensive role if he has to. He did that on several occasions in his career. He is a good tackler and is able to start attacking patterns from the first third of the pitch. I see no problem with that midfield trio at home against Everton.

Id play Sar or Gio at 6. Of course it can offer enough defensive.

They ell work their socks off and are much better options at progressing the ball up the pitch.

Playing PEH who isnt press resistsnt slows us down and will lead to more turn overs of possession which creates more pressure

We're at home and will have more possession.

I went through the Everton side last night to see how many of their players are on 4 yellow cards and could potentially miss our game (yes I am that sad to do this on so many levels).

Amazingly, only one was at risk! Barely had any as a team. Which surprised me for a Sean Dyche team. We seem to be walking a tightrope with ours and I wouldn’t say we were a dirty team. Yet 4 red cards and countless yellows says different.

Oh and by the way it’s Doucouré so hopefully he gets booked today as he’d be a major miss for them.

The more I think about it the more I think it should be Sarr, Lo Celso and Deki.

The 6 being able to take the ball from the defence, hold off pressure, quickly turn and pass is so integral to the way we play. I like PEH and Skipp but that’s just not in their skill set, whereas it is with Sarr.

I think Sarr could do a great job there actually. Plus, whilst a lot think Lo Celso is an option for Ange in that 10 position, he’s often come in for Sarr in the 8 role so I think that’s where Ange prefers him. So I think the below could work:

6 Sarr
8 Lo Celso
10 Deki

The issue is that even if Lo Celso is fit to start the game he probably won't get much past 60 minutes.

Then it's Skipp or Hojberg again which broadly seems to lead to a drop in quality.

What a plonker Bissouma is honestly.
