In this crazy week this is the least important game. So...
Hart; Aurier, Alderweireld, Foyth, Regulion; Sissoko, Gedson, Dele; Lamela, Youth Striker, Sessegnon.

Hart
Aurier Foyth Alderweireld Reguilón

Sissoko Gedson
Ndombele

Lamela Dele Bergwijn

Subs: Kane, Moura, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Clarke, Davies, Gazzainiga

I don't think we should 'throw' this game away, keep some options on the bench and just hope we don't need to use them!

Very hard to pick this but for me this is our best chance of a trophy given the amount of games, if we can get past Chelsea and get a half decent draw it’s only 4 games until the final whereas EL would be about another 12 or something crazy but rotation
Is needed so soon after Sunday.

Hart

Aurier
Toby
Dier
Regulion

Sissoko
Ndombele

Lamela
Bergweign
Gedson

Dele

Subs:
Lloris, Doherty, Sanchez, GLC, Sess, Clarke, Kane

Apart from the lack of striker that’s not a half bad 2nd team and if we can find a way to score without Kane and Son we have a chance just such a shame we don’t have the 2nd striker in by now as this game is the exact game where they could make all the difference and also mean less minutes for some of the other wingers.

Rest as many as we can, be silly to throw away the Europa qualification after flying all over Europe for the past couple weeks.

Hart, Aurier, Toby, CCV, Reguilon, Sissoko, Gedson, Lamela, Clarke, Sessegnon, Dele

Would not put Kane on the bench at all, we can't afford for him to burn out with Son now being out injured.

So we need to keep fresh for Thursday, as much as we all hate football at the moment, hopefully the team are focused on the job at hand, secure Europa qualification so we have another chance at getting back to the CL. League Cup, as nice as it would be to win some silverware is just poor timing for us for such a high intensity game that Chelsea will no doubt bring.

Not really fussed with who plays Tuesday, as i am fairly sure Jose will prioritise Thursday and Sundays Games, with Thursday's starting XI capable of playing 90 mins both Thursday AND Sunday, but not if they've also been involved on Tuesday as well.

With Son out, the only players i think should be absolutely saved for Thursday and Sunday are Kane and Gio, they are the special players, the match winners.

Note: Until 100% fit N'Dombele doesn't get into that category yet, but by the look of it, he soon will.

Spot on, put Kane and Gio on the bench and if we are in it with 20 to go then bring them on. Similar to what Conte did to us in the FA cup semi final.

People need to realise a rotated team will still include Dele, Sergio, Aurier, Toby, Ndombele and Lamela or Stevie. Hardly a youth team is it?

We have to manage minutes this week but if we roll over Tuesday it could be worse for squad morale. Plus the team are certain to be fired up after the robbery yesterday.

Glc, Kane and Ndombele on the bench, if the game is not good, they enter the second half.

I think Jose has every right to field a second string side against Chelsea. The league and Europa have to be the priority.

I wouldn't even have Kane on the bench. Don't give yourself the temptation of bringing him on.

We’ve still got Sterling on our books, shame he hasn’t been given a chance to have a go with all our centre forward issues lately, unless he’s been injured?

As Jose said, the EFL took our decision to take this cup seriously out of their hands with the ridiculous scheduling. Sucks it's chelsea but after Son's hammy we can't risk any more muscle injuries.

For me Europa absolutely has to take precedent. You are probably talking about £20-30m in TV money plus potential CL qualification in this competition. Pretty much anyone who played 70 mins plus today can't start on Tuesday IMHO.

i heard somewhere that if you win the league cup you no longer get a Europa League place and you enter a different competition similar to the Texaco Cup for those of us able to remember this dreadful competition.

My view is that on that basis you wouldn’t want to win it. If we think the qualifying rounds of the Europa cup are bad it will be far worse in this Micky mouse cup.

I assume that would only be if you failed to qualify for CL or Europa however.

Sort of. You enter the third level European competition, with the smaller countries best teams and 7th best teams of bigger countries. However the Europa League will be a lot more elite next season (32 teams). But in respect of qualifying rounds you would only play one in ECL, not the 3 we have had to play this season in the Europa League.
However if you win the League Cup and one of the Top 5 win the FA Cup, League Cup still gets you into Europa League (and straight at group stage), and the team entering the Europa Conference League would be the 6th/7th team in Premier League

I'm glad they've simplified the qualification picture like this.

We can never throw a match against Chelsea. Also we need to build on the positive vibes from the 1st half against Newcastle, and a tanking at home against Chelsea could be toxic for squad morale.

Strong team, maybe with the odd exception of the players with most minutes so far, most notably Kane.

I anticipate that Mourinho will go for a relatively strong team tomorrow, but I would go with something like this, to keep the team fresh:

Tuesday:
-------------------Hart-------------------------
--Aurier---Foyth---Alderweireld---Reguilon--
------------Sissoko------Gedson---------------
----Lamela----Ndombele-------Sessegnon----
-------------------Dele-------------------------
Bench: Gazzaniga, Sanchez, Davies, Winks, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Kane

Thursday:
-------------------Lloris------------------------
--Doherty----Sanchez---Dier--------Davies--
------------Winks-----Hojbjerg---------------
----Moura------Lo Celso-------Bergwijn-----
-------------------Kane------------------------
Bench: Hart, Alderweireld, Reguilon, Sissoko, Ndombele, Lamela, Dele

We could really do with Skipp (loan) + Bale and Tanganga (injured) this week (and obviously Son ? )

Edit: Mourinho publicly stating that we can't compete for the Caraboa Cup, I now expect Cirkin and White to at least make the bench.
