Mourinho, alluded to the fact that there are likely to be changes in his post match interview, when he said that maybe he was wrong to pick the same 11 bar Ben Davies because of the energy levels being expended.
I could see the logic of him going with the same side, in that he is getting to know the players and why change what worked so well for the first 70 mins away at West Ham after just one game. It has something of the if it ain't broke don't fix it theory which is not bad thing, but that interview or the way I read it was telling, in that he was alluding to the fact that he may shuffle the pack a bit, albeit not too much at home to Bournemouth.
What is encouraging though is that if he does shuffle the pack and makes a few changes, we do know already that he isn't afraid of making bold changes very quickly if things aren't working out there on the pitch.

He has an important decision to make for the left back position, if as we suspect it's been rumoured that Davies was seen wearing a protective boot. Will he risk just playing Danny Rose there, knowing that he too could pick up an injury playing too many games in quick succession.

If he opts for an alternative in some games he may either go for Vertonghen playing there in the same way he deployed Davies, as a virtual third centre back on the left side, as we know that Verts can play left back or he may opt to integrate Sessegnon into the team more quickly than he had originally planned to do on the left.
If he goes for the latter option in Sessegnon, he may opt to switch Aurier and put in Foyth at RB and give the left wing back more of a licence to go forward as opposed to Aurier on the right.

As previous writer alluded to, there will be changes. I’d like to see Foyth/Sessegnon and Lo Celso but the sensible choice might be to keep going with Aurier and build his confidence. Eriksen deserves to keep going as well, even though I’m not a fan of this thought with him maybe going i january.

Gazzaniga - Aurier, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Vertonghen - Ndombele, Dier - Eriksen, Dele, Son - Kane.

Subs: Austin, Foyth, Sessegnon, Winks, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Lucas.

What team you hoping for then.

I'm going:

Gazza
Aurier Alder Sanchez Vert
Dier Ndombele
Dele
Moura Kane Son

As much as I'm hopeful to see our FB dynamic switched to the attacking left, I think Aurier doesn't deserve to be dropped so we will carry on as is but Vert can play that LCB in the 3 role. Think Dier will get an opportunity again in midfield and Ndombele will get his chance. I felt both Dier/Winks were doing poorly so only fair one gets hooked during the game and the other misses out from the start in the next one.

I'd like to get Lo Celso in for Moura sooner or later but I'm settling for 2 changes.

Subs: Austin, Foyth, Sess, Sissoko, Winks, Lo Celso, Eriksen

Couldn't agree more regarding Vertonghen. He should've played LB more often after his outstanding display there last year vs Dortmund and particularly given the trash we've seen from Rose in recent months.

Think I'd go:

Gazza
Aurier, Toby, Sanchez, Verts
Skipp, Ndombele
Lo Celso, Alli, Son
Kane

Vertonghen to play that more conservative LB/left side back 3 role.

Controversial including Skipp perhaps but it's clear Dier needs more of a rest as he looked like he was running in mud last night. Winks could do with a rest too, doesn't offer defensive protection and we need someone who can play as a DM to offer the defence mobility and protection. Sissoko doesn't have the discipline or intelligence to play the role imo.

Lo Celso in for Lucas to give us some fresh legs and someone a bit more creative with the ball. Lucas on the bench as a great second half option.

The real problem area is DM and I'm not sure who Mourinho will end up going with there.

If Aurier is going to continue to be deployed as he is as more attacking then Sessegnon isn’t an option for left back and Rose is a poor choice too.

Vertonghen would make more sense there and if Davies is gonna be out for a while a solid defensive left back will become a top top priority in January.

Gazzaniga

Aurier Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen

Ndombele

This.

Sessegnon not an option at left back whilst we’re deploying Aurier as we are and Rose is not solid enough and more suited to be able to make marauding runs. Unless Mourinho works on him I guess given Rose isn’t as athletic as he was?

Wheneever I've seen Vertonghen this season he's looked as painfully slow as Dier. Not sure what happened to the player who ripped into Dortmund.

We have a game with United on Wednesday. He needs to have his best player for that match. So I think there will be some rotation.

Gazza
Aurier - Sanchez - Vertonghen - Rose

Ndombele - Dier

Sissoko Eriksen Son

Kane

Age and an injury or two.

Either way, I hope Mourinho doesn't make the same mistake he made starting Dier v Olympiakos if Vertonghen has lost as much pace as it would appear. I'd almost cosider moving Aurier across and using Foyth at RB although that's obviously far from ideal. The other alternative is starting Sessegnon at LB with Aurier at RB or Foyth if he wants to keep using the 3CB format.

Could go super-attacking, why not.

It seems difficult to get Sessegnon playing.

I doubt there will be more than two changes. It will be a case of take one game at a time and lock in the 3 points.

I just don't see Sissoko or Ndombele having the discipline to provide a shield for the defense. Sissoko is a beast but is much better when he is in a midfield 3 or a diamond and can play the right side with a number 6 holding down the middle. Ndombele always wants to go forward, which is not a bad thing if he is playing with a true number 6.

Regarding those that don't think Eriksen can start because this is his last contract year, as an American, I do not understand the logic. He is on the team and as long as he puts forth the effort and performs, especially if he is doing so better than other options, he should play IMO. This is done all the time in American sports. As long as you are competitive in competitions, play the players that give you the best chance to win now. Worry about the longer term options once you don't have something to play for in the competition.
