It is 5 subs, but I'd be going the opposite. Start full-strength and bring on the fringe/kids if we're at least 3 goals up on the night. After last week's result we can't be taking any chances.

Nuno mentioned it his presser but he was concerned about travelling to and from Portugal, which is why he went very youth oriented last week. Now that we have 2 back to back home games, we'll likely see the team you suggested.

I like giving the kids the opportunity to turn it around, because if they do it builds confidence and faith in Nuno. Bringing them on at the end doesn't teach them anything, it's very much a "the team's up 5 go run around" opportunity.

Interestingly, if Kane starts tomorrow, as I’d expect him to, and with Gollini starting in place of Hugo, then Kane will be captain too, no?

If we throw the youths on again and it's still not happening, it leaves us short of time to pull the goal back. Even at half time.

They won't get many of any opportunity in the cups if they get knocked out of this one at the first hurdle.

Better to make sure we actually reach the group stage, which it'd be much more difficult to go out in, and give them the chance then. If we send them tomorrow and they lose, that's 6-12 matches they won't get a chance to play in over the season.

I expect us to play a PL level team. I think the most risky we should go is to play bench first-teamers (Winks, GLC, Doherty etc). Kane will and must play.

Think I'd go with:

Gollini

Doherty
Romero
Dier
Davies

Lo Celso
Winks
Skippy (45 mins, and replaced by PEH at halftime).

Gil
Kane
Sess

(Was Aurier/Sissoko registered to play?)

I think Kane has to play as should those who didnt start on Sunday. Pull Kane off with half hour left the fucker... then bring on erm hmm... shit yeah no fucking striker.

Nah just joking - Scarlett should start though

Start with Romero, Sanchez, Holjbjerg, Kane and Moura in the team and use the subs as we inevitably overwhelm the opposition.

Pacos are obviously very poor away from home so I’m not expecting any shocks.

I've decided I want our strongest team and lets see us get a few goals and keep possession

Good opportunity to work on a dominating performance. That being said, whenever that’s been the case over the past few years it’s been duds. 42-0 Good Guys.

Play two up top and let Kane get deep and provide balls for Scarlett to run on?

I still wouldn’t start either Hojbjerg or Kane yet. We have to remember these guys have played 569 games between them so far this year.

Romero
Sanchez/Dier
Davies

Gil
Winks
Lo Celso
Bergwijn

Kane
Scarlett

One of Dier or Sanchez needs to play I think due to lack of options. Kane can start this as part of his "pre-season", and hopefully only has to do an hour. Bergwijn starts because he is in all likelihood going to be benched now with Kane back up front, so doesn't need resting.

Otherwise full rotation, but should be able to get the job done and pretty embarrassing for us and the strength or our squad if we don't turn it around.

Nuno basically treated the first leg as a preseason friendly to build fitness in squad players. Can’t afford to do that this time round.

If any of the current first XI need resting I would sooner play youngsters who have worked with the first team in preseason than returning first teamers who are visibly unfit and off the pace as happened in the first leg.

GLC, Romero and Doherty were particularly bad. Mind you so were Winks and CCV who had had a preseason, as also were youngsters such as John and Clarke who had played in preseason. Whereas Gil and Sessengon playing their first game were half decent. Actually I don’t know what I am talking about.

This.

Although would also like to see youth players coming on in second half - John, Scarlett and White.
