I seriously hope we don't play 3 at the back. It almost always is terrible when we do it.

We need to be able to dominate midfield again for it to work, gonna be near on impossible for us to have a peak Dembele/Wanyama sitting in front of the defence like we did a few years agi.

Yes. It would be nice to go to three in central midfield to try and get some dominance in the middle of the park. It's been painful watching opposition teams seemingly have a free run straight at our nervy defence.

Yeah I see your point. I always hated that formation under poch as the front three would never move and the CMs were Dembele, Dier or Wanyama who couldn't spot a pass at all and were not playmakers. I thought it only worked as we had two world class FB who were absolutely rapid. I can't see it working for us now with that team.

It was only really effective when it became a 3-2-5 with walker and rose playing as wingers, putting so much pressure on the opposition that they struggled to break our press. But those days are gone, and we don’t have the same players in key positions.
Fortunately José doesn’t seem to be a fan, but being a tactical master and devising a strategy to outwit Solskjaer might take over.
I really hope not though. I think 433 suits our squad much more

Time for Kane to step up and show he's one of Europe's top strikers. We need him badly in this game.

Look how Lewandowski scores pretty much every game for Bayern, we need Kane to reach that level.

Kane is easily one of the best in the world but this point your making about stepping up I totally agree .... in the big big games that mean something aka semi finals and the 2 finals with us he never takes the game by the scruff ! This is were he is lacking. Look at drogba he did he for fun, gerrard another example l! We need Harry to start doing it

Wouldn't be adverse to starting Skipp holding instead of Winks. At the back I'm looking squarely at Toby to see if he can turn his fortunes around because he was fast becoming a liability.

At least we have solid options off the bench if/when we require them tonight.
