See we're supposedly leading the race with an unamed German club for Peterborough United defender Ronnie Edwards.

Now, I know I'm a sandwich or two short of a picnic, but every time I see or hear the name Ronnie it takes me back to this. Sorry.

NSFW, or those easily offended.

As for Edwards, seems assured in the passing department, but it is said he'd have to work on his aerial ability. At 19 however, time is certainly on his side, and the brutality of the Championship should've done him no harm one would hope.

How do you think my boy Isak would go in the prem? And would he fit into a Conte front 3?

I was wondering about Isak myself. Arsenal been heavily linked but it stands to reason that having Kulu in our squad would be a plus if we wanted to target him ourselves. He looks like he'd be a perfect option for us. I know we'll get the calls of "would he want to be backup to Kane?" but as we've said, there will be plenty of games to go around and ways that we can fit both him and Kane in the side when we want to.

I can see the Lo celso / Torres swap deal being too tempting for paratichi, although agree he doesn’t seem the best option
If there’s any chance for that, that would make to much sense imo. Could possibly save some cash in that kind of deal as well.

1:1 seems even more likely now as GLC has performed well and upped his price for Villarreal.

I'd rather take a chance on Lenglet than take a chance on Pau Torres. Barca allegedly shoving Lenglet out the door, just like Juve did with Bentancur and Kulusevski. Conte's the man to restore his confidence.
Yeah maybe. I also think ndombele would be good for Barca, he needs to play for a team that dominates possession. Maybe another swap opportunity!

Kind of feels like our primary target for some CF/attacking depth has to be De Ketleaere. Probably a more reasonable fee, still a great profile for the type of player we need (versatile), and would round out our attacking group well.

So, basically, all we need for a successful summer window is for you to be appointed Sporting Director at Barcelona! Get your CV in the post.

No mention on transfermrket of which foot he uses - maybe he doesn’t have any feet? ??

And are the Germans gonna stick a towel over him, thus claiming him as theirs?

This season: 5 goals in 26 la liga matches, 9 goals in 35 matches in all comps. How would he be a perfect option for us? Because he'll probably flop worse than Soldado?

Isak wouldn't even be mentioned as an option if he wasn't highly rated in FM/FIFA.

EDIT: Thank you for presenting your counter arguments with the big red x, @[email protected], @fecka, and @SanDiegoSpur. I'm sure your rebuttals are well thought out.

If we’re considering anyone from Villareal, we should take a close look at Yeremi Pino. U-21 Spanish attacking player. Very talented, only 19. Can play off of right or left, with an eye for goal. When I’ve seen the Spanish u-21s, watching Bryan Gil, Pino has stood out as the most talented player on the pitch consistently. Scored 4 goals una. Single match for Villareal recently. Would be great rotation for Kulusevski and one for the future.

We should not be chasing Lenglet (on the way down) or Pau Torres (who wouldn't be suited to the PL).

Juve shoved Kulusevski and Bentancur out the door and their fans were overjoyed. Conte now has them playing brilliantly. Dier was on the way down, as was Doherty. Look at them now. The Barca fans really turned on Lenglet and his confidence suffered very badly. Previously he was often outstanding and I think he'd possibly be fantastic as our LCB with his ability on the ball. Torres just doesn't strike me as a very good defender and I think he'd really struggle in the EPL.

Pau Torres looks good to me. Never seen him panic personally, great on the ball has presence about him and his passing into midfield and further is top drawer. The only question mark would be pace on the turn but he does have a good stride on him when he gets going, he’d be a very good signing for us.

I’m not entirely convinced I believe us being desperate for a LCB. I think it will be wing backs who we will be targeting in the main, another central midfielder and another attacker. We may want another centre back but I’m sceptical it’s top of the list.

I think we at least need a rotation option on the left side. Davies is doing well there, but he can’t play every game.

Wing backs and central midfield are the priorities for me. Followed by an LCB and reserve striker.

LCB, RWB, CM and a FW is the minimum requirement imo

I was thinking if we got a good left footed centre back, hopefully they’d be able to cover central and left side of defence?

That would be the ideal and most efficient.

Maybe although the central defender and the wider defenders have quite different roles in the Conte system and maybe don’t require the same skill set. The central defender needs to have really good positioning and covering skills, communication, reading of the play and be willing to put themselves in the mix in last ditch situations. The wider defender is much more proactive in coming out to win challenges early, progress with the ball, even support the counters. Obviously both have to be comfortable on the ball because we play out from the back so much. If there is a defender that can cover both it’d be awesome but we’ve seen with Romero how much better he is at one role than the other.

Watching Leipzig that half and recently linked Laimer has been superb. Looks a real complete midfielder.

Their recruitment is sensational. Another great spine created of Gvardiol, Laimer, Olmo, Nkunku. Good job Man U wont listen to Rangnick this summer....

Yeah that’s my instinct too. Think we can assume there should be a mix of signings spanning big $$ transfers, smart lower cost signings (a la January), and frees. My hope is that we put our chips where the biggest impact can be felt in the front 11, and to me there’s a bigger quality gap at RWB than LCB and it isn’t close.
