The idea that we were 1970 Brazil team until Jose came along is, frankly, just barmy. We were ABJECT in the league (Brighton away anyone?) in the year running up to Poch's sacking. Since then the football has been just as bad but results have significantly improved to the point that we are still in the hunt for 4th.

As for the comments upthread about people boycotting games...is there anything more odious and narcissistic than fans thinking they are somehow the arbiter of what constitutes a "real fan" or not? Sheesh

It’s a myth we played free flowing, wonderful football under Poch at any point to be honest. It was a beastly work rate, some quick counter and fantastic link up play between four attackers that gelled magnificently when it was going well. I’ve said it many a time, Redknapp played the best football I’ve ever seen at Tottenham for a season.

To me, if we had to select a style that represented the ‘traditional’ Tottenham, it was that. Flawed, bit dodgy at the back at times but when on song the passing and moving was different class. Parker, Modric, Bale, Kranjcar, Rafa, Defoe, Ledley, Walker...great side to watch

Exactly this. Poch's great achievement was breaking with traditional Spursiness with a new style of football that fans in general applauded, it was nothing like what comes to mind when I think of a "Tottenham way" of football. Redknapp's sides 2009-12 were the true embodiment of that.

We didn't have Hugo for most of the season and I'm sure that would have not helped!
I'm not sure it matters because since he has been back we have had one and lately it's two goals a game so not much difference.

What have I made up?
Wasn't it about a year ago we started playing shit?

It was last Jan. The champions league aside it was poor, hard to see how anyone can disagree with that. Was a load of last minute winners and poor performances

WALOB.
I may not feel very confident, but the Manager has my sympathy.
He first fixed a sinking ship.
He got us to within touching distance of top 4.
He’s lost his two best attacking players; I think even Liverpool would struggle without Salah & Mane.
He’s inherited a record signing who is unfit.
He’s lost one of his most experienced and energetic midfielders.
He lost his first choice LB to injury in his first match in charge.

Not a lot has gone right for him or the team. And yet we fight on.

Credit to the lads. COYS.
Winner.
Let’s just get through this season in whatever supporting way we can muster and have it be over with. And can we please stop comparing every waken second to the time under Pochettino.

Next three league games are:

Wolves at home
Burnley away
United at home

Got to feel that it's a vital run of games for momentum and top 4.

Don't feel confident but we've got to hope that Jose can galvanise them.

We've still got enough quality to do it, but they've got to start improving.

Cliché, but massive game tomorrow off the back of that pitiful performance at Chelsea.

I'm going for 2-1 Spurs. Dele to step up with a brace.

I’m not sure we will win any of those. Basically we need to just stay in contention until Son and Kane are back somehow.

One thing is for certain, it won’t be pretty so the moaners are just going to have to put up with the style until we get our two best players back.

Today will be end to end and will be decided by the team who takes their chances.

It’s looking that way mate. My Season ticket seat has been on the Spurs exchange since last weekend. £80... for a game against Wolves. Are they serious? Even if i can’t sell I don’t think I can be bothered. Not a protest...just can’t face sitting through it.

Better than going and moaning through the whole game like the bloke who sits behind me did against Leipzig and does regularly. Utterly pointless going if you don’t want to be there. My other season ticket has been on exchange since Wednesday unsold.

It's bad enough watching the team without all this bollocks where everyone is just at eachother's throats, ****ing off the team, the players, the manager, eachother, the atmosphere in here is fucking awful and getting worse.

If someone were to create an alternative match thread just for people fed up with listening to some of the oh woe is me, this is shit , he is shit and they are ****s nastiness that this thread is inevitably going to be filled up with, I'd be a buyer :D

I was about to reply with "I hope a win will unite us" but you just know an endless debate about the style of football will break out .

I think we're going to need to score 2 [minimum] today to win, and I just can't see it with our current injuries.

At best I think we'll draw, but I expect us to lose this.

Sorry for negative vibes, but it's the best I can do.

Another thing, what's it with people bombarding others with optimistic ratings for daring to believe that we will win? Isn't that the whole point in supporting a club? - Believing that your team can get a win.

Seen as we beat City at home last time out, it's hardly super optimistic.

1 will be enough if we dont concede

This will rub some the wrong way, but... Starting NOW, at this point in the season, after everything that's happened, with some self-entitled petty, petulant act of protest boggles my mind. The club has never in the last decade needed their supporters more than right now.

This all day long. Fucking dreading the atmosphere in here later in, I’ve never known it so toxic so early!
