Honeslty this it the worst defence we have had in along time.. Aurier well we all know he has a fuck up or two in him... but to be fair that was never a free kick in the last minute but at same time he gave the player the chance to win it. Toby im afraid is past his best, Sanchez just doesn't fill you with confidence, Really like the look of Regulion but lets be honest he leaves lot of questions to defensively. On top of that we have Dier who doesn't exactly inspire confidence and see lot of pressure being thrown on Rondon shoulders despite the fact id imagine most on here have never seen him play. He is going to need time to settle people also need to remember it is a step up his taking so may need time to adapt.
Not a free kick, was our player deliberately blocked and should Bale have had a penalty?
When do things go our way.
Look at City yesterday, should Walker have given away a penalty for his dangerous high foot and should Aguero have been sent off for handling the young girl assistant referee. The rules say they should.

Sorry but again we have been robbed in our own home. No way that was foul.

Opposition has being instructed to find a foul or set pieces cuz they know we are shit at it.

I think the problem isn't Hojbjerg but who is playing alongside him. Hojbjerg isn't Kante - he's never going to cover the entire midfield defensively - but with Sissoko in the side we lose a lot of intelligence in possession, and with Winks, we sacrifice physicality and defensive nous.

The real problem is that we took off Ndombele and didn't have Lo Celso on the pitch. Lo Celso will always show for the ball, use it intelligently and take the pressure off, but will also get stuck in and do a job defensively when possible. We always need at least one of those 2 on the pitch if we want to have any semblance of control in the middle.
One is bad enough, but together, Winks and Sissoko are a recipe for disasters waiting to happen. I bet they don't talk at all - they played like fucking strangers.

Agreed, and because of the position he was playing he also opened up space for them in midfield.

The subs from Jose today were far too sentimental, leaving Kane on for the hat-trick, bringing a clearly unfit Bale on, and i didn't get the Moura sub either, i assume to carry the ball up the pitch, but that didn't even come close to happening.

Keeping Son on or even getting Vinicius on would have helped us get further up the pitch, but instead we dropped deep and had nothing to aim at, no out ball. and no one showing. :(
5 minutes to go, play keep ball nothing else.

Everton at home. 1 x FK. Header
Southampton away. 1 of 2 goals. Penalty. Other a ball over the top.
Newcastle at home. FK -> Penalty
Man Utd away. Penalty.
West Ham at home. 2 x FK. 1 Header. 1 not defending edge of the box. 1 x OG.

5 out of 8 goals directly from set pieces. 1 other indirectly from a set piece. 2 others non set-piece related.

Concentration levels aren't good enough.

This this to Jose

Yep. I’m amazed we didn’t buy another central midfielder in the transfer window. I said all along we were crying out for another proper defensive midfielder in there.

Criminal... had it stayed 3-0 and talk would have been of mounting a title challenge now we’re back to being a laughing stock.

We can’t have good things

I genuinely started to believe the title could be ours for the first time as a spurs fan but when that first goal happened for west ham, the shades of 90's, 00's, 10's cameback quick. I think i need therapy.

Despite this result which hurts so bad, i still believe we could achieve something special. We are lacking luck though, the free kicks for spam and newcastle were so harsh and to get punished for them is just so unfortunate. Only Spurs.
See that's where a lot of the problem arises. It's the hard luck story, it wasn't handball against Newcastle, it wasn't a free kick today. It's bollocks! Newcastle we didn't take our chances to kill them off. It wasn't the ref or bad luck. Today we're 3 up after 16 mins and should have gone on to score 6 and bury them. But we didn't. We took our foot of the gas and got exactly what we deserved. It's down to the players and the manager. Just something in our culture at the club. That's why it's been 60 years since we won a title.

Shankly, Paisley, Clough, Revie, Ferguson, Wenger, their title winning teams would have gone on to destroy West Ham today.

Just watched the Bale chance again. That’s a stonewall pen! He gets pushed over as he shoots! We should have made more of a fuss of that at the time.
The problem with us when such decisions doesnt go our way, we accept and retreat most of the times.

Sometimes i wish they would make a big fuss for example the foul by aurier which wasnt, this makes simple psychology the referee would think twice before blowing against us.

Under Poch we were great at defending set pieces. Surely the players can’t have forgotten all that? We will have to defend them all week. I can’t believe in pinning all my hopes on a centre half from the championship but hopefully Rodon will help.

It's true. Our biggest weaknesses are CB and (still) CM. Put someone like Sabitzer in there alongside Hojbjerg and we're a different side.

However, I think Lo Celso can do that job and with both him and Ndombele in the side we can make a big step up.

Why would anyone ever listen to talksport
I have no choice because living in Toronto I dont have the luxury of listening to other British talk radio. It is what keeps me informed of footballing events and happenings in the UK.

Ref wouldn’t change his mind anyway and I don’t think VAR would be concerned where it happened.Point is these things happen but we should bloody well defend them better.
