Fully understand people not wanting to get carried away but come on we need some perspective here.

If you had offered this start to Nuno before the season started, with all the Kane shit going on, he would of bitten your hand off.

Everybody outside of Tottenham were hoping we were going to fail and that we were treating Kane atrociously (on the whole).

3 wins with no goals conceded against the champions, his old team, and a newly promoted team is bloody good.

We need to wait and see if the possession/attacking threat improves but its a great foundation. Nuno sounds like he is a better coach than Jose and prioritises fitness. Let that approach bed in and enjoy the ride!
I agree.

I'm normally one of the most pessimistic on here but even if the football hasn't been pretty and we've been lucky:
  1. We've got points we normally drop. However the season pans out, these will add up
  2. Our weakest area - our defence - has improved substantially
  3. It's early days, we will improve
  4. Wolves and Watford are traditionally teams that defend deep in numbers, the football was never going to be pretty.
  5. Against Pacos (H) and Watford, we were very attacking.
  6. Our core players seem happy. Our second biggest problem after our defence was player morale & cliques.
Whilst we look a world away from our Redknapp/Poch days and there's not been much improvement on the surface, there was been significant improvement under it.

Agree. We seem to like “top lads” and don’t give our flair players much love. Where is our Tottenham!?

Thing is I don’t really mind giving him a decent reception it’s the fact the ground is so dead and full of people more interested in taking selfies. Genuinely the one time I saw people on their feet signing was to clap him off. All abit odd.

Too many tourists. Has been the same since it opened. I constantly get day trippers sitting round me talking through the whole game and filming every 5 minutes.

Yup. That said the moany old ****s behind me have probably been going since the 80’s. I’d take a Korean singing his heart out over those lot tbh.

No mate, he had that 2 season spell where he was dragging us through games, he's always been popular with the crowd, and we didn't get the chance to give him a proper send off.

Fair fucks to Spurs fans, I say.

Plus he gave us one last ballooned shot into row Z :D

Edit: I love Danny Rose, mind... I'd buy him a pint and we'd have a proper chat about how much better it is in Yorkshire :D

Exactly, not to mention being part of the team that created my best Spurs memory as a supporter (we won't talk about the final though :censored:)

Watching from home it looked like the pitch was really sticky. The ball just didn't seem to zip. Was the pitch watered much before the match/at half time?
Yeah, but it was really noticeable that we just weren't zipping it around like we did on Thursday (against weaker opposition, granted)

You have those moany old ****s too? Must be one in every part of the ground. Like a blow by blow account about how shit every player is all fucking game long.

I've been more surprised this far that we've seen our more solid FB (Tanganga) being more adventurous than our LB. Now it might have more to do with Sarr being the bigger threat, but every time we had started from the back Tanganga was bombing forward.

He was let down by a poor first touch imo (he kept going backwards or sideways and slowing things down) but Son was instructing him at times to be right up in line with the last man.

Dele was also playing more of a #10 role than in the previous games. He still fell back into the left of that three when defending, but he roamed all over, at times advancing past Kane or finding himself on the left wing.

I know we are a work in progress atm. We haven't played a 433 in as long as I can remember, which will mean there are going to be teething problems. As such I'm not going to be negative about things.

It’s draining.

Quite like what untied did where they sold a load of season tickets to 18-25 year olds cheap.

I'd hoped that us being a bit shit again would reduce that contingent. That being said, I haven't had that around me so far this season.

Yup. I mean covid has fucked things for a while as lots of people will be popping their season tickets on ticket exchange. But anything that can be done to increase the number of fans who actually want to come and support the club would be great. I think there are too many people who go along because its become habitual rather than enjoying it. I mean we all moan at things, but the grumpy old men are taking over. I mean, Oliver Skipp is not responsible for Covid-19, the war in Afghanistan or their loveless marriage! Give him a break.

Defense was solid again. Midfield was also well organized and kept the Wolves midfield mostly quiet. However, they didn’t offer that much going forward. Dele tried, but it was tough going.

Yes, Son hit the winning goal, but we won the game cos of our defensive setup.

Unlike the previous two PL games our attacking forwards didn’t press as hard or play like a cohesive unit. Which does not surprise me. Harry looked cumbersome and apathetic at times. I personally thought it was a mistake starting him over Lucas. To me, it sent the wrong message to the team. The same eleven players worked their socks off as a team against City and Wolves. Lucas in particular has run his nuts off. Yet, he’s the one who gets dropped from a winning team. And oddly enough Sonny looked out of sorts… which is not like him at all.

Have loved everything Nuno has done so far, but i didn’t understand this decision. To me, it really sent the wrong signal to the other players: “You may work your arse off and win. But, Harry comes first, no matter what”. Maybe it would look better if Harry played a blinder but he didn’t. In fact, does anyone remember him joining the group all celebrating with Son right after he scored? If he did, didn’t see him.

Nuno now has to work on improving our attacking style of play. As we haven’t looked all that dangerous in the past two games. And we all know, you can’t rely on 1-0 wins. Need much more from our attack If we want to actually make a run at the top 4.
To be fair, Moura was very poor against Wolves. If he’d had a stellar gamete might have had a case but cant be disappointed not to start after his Wolves turn out.

If you see our pass maps you’ll see we are very right side dominant. Whether that is not having a left footed CB or Dele not really comfortable on the ball but it’s quite noticeable. Left side got most of its ball from the Sanchez raking long balls.

That was a really good result and an ok performance. Watford didn't really get a sniff and hats off to Nuno for re-establishing a firm defence again and a team that is comfortable controlling possession rather than sitting off. It'll take time to undo the damage of the previous two years and 3 wins from 3 with no goals conceded is great.

The big issue during that game was our very slow tempo in possession. It's ok to take a breather and remain in control, but you can't have such long periods of it. That's frustrating and urgency in possession needs to be drilled into this side again. Walking around and passing lethargically isn't going to get us very far. And it's much easier to be urgent when playing on the break against offensive teams than against teams that sit back. Plenty to work on there, but this was a controlled victory and didn't require too much luck as we did against Wolves.

Yeah was talking about this coming out of the ground it’s noticeable. I’m surprised at those say the atmosphere was great it was poor and flat. Still I hope it changes as it’s very frustrating, new WHL should be a cauldron of noise and things like the south stand could and should be as intimidating as f*** for opposition teams. I feel if it was it would be worth extra points over a season, part of what made me so excited about the new stadium as much as the extra revenue. It was designed to keep the sound in, but if the fans don’t do there part…

Someone posted earlier that we raise the roof ‘when it matters’, that kind of sums up the apathy in football these days. I’d like to see us win the league in my lifetime so ‘every home game matters’.

Watching the MOTD highlights, I am feeling a little more positive about the performance. I liked that, having gone 1-0 up, we were still trying throughout the match to score more.
