Yeah agree. I’ve always liked Rio and Linekar is less of a tit on BT than MOTD.

I think a lot of that is down to who he has to sit there with though. Shearer & Owen? Two duller pundits I am yet to find, Gary does 99% of the work on that show when either of those two are on.

He’s got the front 4 playing outside the area with Winks at the base. Intricate 1 touch passing then shoot.

Meanwhile the back 5 passing across the back again first time with the odd long pass straight from wing to wing.

I think it will be a much trickier game than most expect tonight. Can you say for sure we wont 'give' a goal or two away?

I bet Moura is pleased Jose is in. Glad he's finally getting to start 2 games in a row ,in the same position with the same players around him.
That never happened under Poch and people slammed him for being inconsistent. Surprising that :cautious:

In other words 'mixing it and not making it easy for the opposition to know what you're going to do.

I think their fans are shouting stuff about us but I have no idea what they're chanting. I'm still offended though.

Probably begging you lot to save Thomas Cook which accounts for like half their economy :p

Doubt it.
The players are not machines, most of them having come back from internationals. I think he just views this fixture as the most important one. He'll want to get off to a winning start at the Lane and won't want to be sweating on a result at Bayern.

Can’t deny I’m disappointed not to see Ndombele or Lo Celso start but I can understand why Jose wants to continue with a winning team. Just hope Eriksen doesn’t come on ahead of someone who’s going to be here longer.

I agree. I'm most excited for Lucas and Dier coming in, then subsequently for Aurier to have different tasks and Dele more freedom.

I know, I'm just going by how he's worked in the past and how he's seemingly working now, he establishes a core to get continuity and familiarity and rotates when players are out of form or injured.

Cream tends to rise to the top regardless, it won't be long until Ndombele comes in for Winks for example.

Im not sure he will. If the players keep performing then why not let them keep performing.
Also it tells those not starting that if you want in you're gonna have to earn it and not get in just because you didnt play the last game and it'll keep you happy.

Not sure I trust Rose to play that same role. Dont think he has the discipline.
Jose might not be employing the exact same tactics from the West Ham game. Could be that both FBs will be bombing forward at different times. And maybe it will be more of a case of Dier sitting even deeper. 'Cos I fundamentally agree with your POV. Rose can't do what Davies did on Saturday. It's not in his locker. So, if Jose truly wanted to use the same tactics it would make more sense for Jan to play LB today. Or, to switch the tactic from left to right. EG: Start Foyth at RB, playing in a similar fashion to that of Davies... while Rose is given permission to get forward.

So, I'm guessing, 'cos it's a home game and the opposition are likely to park the bus, Jose has made a tweak to the system that will require both full backs to come forward and create 6 on 4 situations.

Michael Owen cannot be out-dulled.

Michael Owen (probably)

I think we'll see Rose and Aurier having to be more disciplined tonight and taking it in turns to attack whilst the other slips in to make the defensive 3. A bit more footballing intelligence required!!
