City brilliant btw but they're pressing us so aggressively I do wonder how long they'll be able to keep that up for

Poor half, defended well but all over the place up top, it's like they've never played together before. I'd bring Maddison on for Johnson and get Kulu out wide.

Really good cup tie, competed well and well in the game. Just lack a cutting edge up top, not sure but I don’t think their keeper has made a save yet

Is it me or is Hojberg having a really good game?

He’s been very good. Kept it tidy and covered the defence well. He does have a tendency to stay deep, which is why he doesn’t have a future in Ange’s system but it’s probably more useful in a game like this

Pep in year 12 of the project with £1B spent is a scary team but I’m so impressed with our back line, no fear in any of them.

We don’t have a Maddison or Lo Celso etc on to play that pass unfortunately, hopefully 2nd half.
Not to single you out, but I will never understand the "a [name of player we actually have]" phrasing.

There's only one Maddison and one GLC and they both literally play for us lol.

Ange is going to be earning his oats this half time.
We can be better than this.

We must be better than this. It’s almost like they’re waiting for a sign to be incisive.
Thread the balls through!

I'm sure Werner is pretty fast, but I always think him being "rapid" is an exaggeration. Even at 31 I'd still back Sonny to out sprint him.

Two speedsters wide isn't giving City enough problems and leads to predictable play.

Crying out for a wide forward able to go both ways and commit defenders.
I've said it before and everyone laughs at me but I'd love to see Edwards in this side.

Honestly the highlight of the game so far was the way they celebrated Porro’s block as if we’d scored. We’ve got a proper defensive unit who are willing to throw themselves at the ball to protect our goal.

Our attack is nearly non-existent, though. Our no.10 is holding the ball for too long and our RW is shot of confidence.
